A dominated creature is treated by me as ex-ally anyway so doesn't even come close to gaining the effect of the magic circle untill hes rid of the mental influence. And if you still keep it going for it as per an ally then no saving throw. Its merely suppressed not dispelled

Readying a melee attack to disrupt spellcasting is useless beyong imagination. Just 5 ft. step as caster.... I'd just charge the caster and put every smite you have into that first round of attacks, or delay till hes his by a targetted greater dispel magic of one of your allies and then do it...

Small sized tunnels, or even tunnels where small sized creatures need to crouch. Even HINT at the presence of intelligent kobolds with resources and theres no way anyones entering that complex :D.
