Project Sigil 90% Of D&D’s Project Sigil Team Laid Off

The fact that you list ‘combat’ as a rule you’d have look up in a game makes me think we’re going to be talking past each other on this one, and given none of this has anything to do with the topic of the thread I’ll politely bow out. Apologies if I came across as dismissive, I didn’t mean to...

Project Sigil 90% Of D&D’s Project Sigil Team Laid Off

Every rule in 5E24 requires you to flip through multiple volumes? Every rule? Sounds a tad hyperbolic.

D&D 5E (2014) 2024 Monster Manual has better lore than 2014 Monster Manual

My bad, I thought you were talking about lore.

D&D 5E (2014) 2024 Monster Manual has better lore than 2014 Monster Manual

They have put out expanded monster manuals (as I think others have pointed out): Volos guide to monsters Mordenkainen's tome of foes Fizbans Treasury of Dragons Bigby's.... And yeah, they sold really well.

D&D General Do you track ammunition?

There’s a joke to be made about not using critical fumble tables, but I don’t want to make light of what happened to your friend, that sounds awful.

D&D General Do you track ammunition?

As a player I try my best to. Although, I tend to avoid ranged weapon options that have stuff to keep track of in the first place. As a DM, it's up to the player, if tracking ammo is something they enjoy doing, then go for it. If it's a drag, don't worry about it.

D&D 5E (2014) What could 5E do to make wealth worthwhile?

I once played a Fire Genasi, arcana cleric who had a goal to start a 'permanent torch' business using the continual flame spell to create his product in downtimes. So, I always had ruby dust to spend my gold on.

D&D 5E (2014) 2024 Monster Manual has better lore than 2014 Monster Manual

The book does a good job of emphasising the lore in the art to make it more memorable. For example, the art for the Peryton shows it’s human shaped shadow. Something I’d forgotten from past editions. I only picked up the book recently as it finally shipped to Australia. I’m really enjoying...

Must You Tell Your Players What Adventure You Are Running?

I prefer that the DM tell the players, if only so that they can make appropriate characters for the setting/adventure. Not telling the players runs the risk that you'll end up using an adventure that someone has already played.

D&D General Why did you have to cancel/reschedule your most recent session?

So far this year we’ve had players get sick, the DM’s had to work late, and then this week I couldn’t make it because I had tickets to see PJ Harvey at the Opera House.

D&D General Languages suck in D&D.

I'm not sure that replacing Language by Species with Language by region really fixes the issues people seem to be complaining about in this thread. It might make things more realistic but doesn't add any improvements in gameplay beyond that.

Gargoyles are generally depicted to look like demons, though.

For those that have made their own languages for their homebrew setting, how many languages does your world have?

    D&D 5E (2024) Where to next, WotC?

I forgot about that, I didn't pick up Infinite Staircase so that one of my DM's has more options for adventures that I won't have read.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

I think Fiends are one of those areas where lore (or too much of it) can be detrimental. Like horror movies that lose the fear factor once things are explained. For my own homebrew, there isn't a lot of known lore for fiends. Demons spread misinformation, so, anything you think you know about...
