I agree with Micah, a single movie isn’t ideal for a soap compared to a serialised format. The movie still has a lot of the plot centre around a married couple dealing with a pregnancy and the birth of their first child, which feels more soap than superhero to me.

I thought that showing the origin story in a TV show montage celebrating 4 yeas of the Fantastic Four was a good way to catch up the audience whilst also giving background to the world we're in.

I thought the film was worth seeing for the production design alone. I loved the 60’s retro future look of everything. Apparently it was the same design team that worked on the Loki series. Galactus and Silver Surfer were also highlights, but everyone was perfectly cast.

I was a fan of that version too, would have loved to see them get a sequel and do the Judge Death storyline. I liked the whacky storylines in 2000 AD more than Judge Dredd specifically, so probably why I can see Taika working. I can understand being worried if you want a more grounded Dredd again.

I read yesterday there's talk of Taika directing a new Judge Dredd film, which I think could work.
