D&D General Weapon Mastery - Yea or Nay?

The enemy only has 1 hp left and your weapon has the Graze property, so no need to make that attack roll. More time saved. ;)

D&D General Weapon Mastery - Yea or Nay?

If weapon mastery means combat can take longer due to the extra rolls involved, but ends earlier due to extra PC power, it sounds like it all evens out in the end. ;)

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Gladiator: The Narrative Dissonance

High level fighters can get multiple attacks. Gladiators are high level fighters therefore they get multiple attacks. I'm not sure I see the narrative dissonance.

D&D General Weapon Mastery - Yea or Nay?

The campaign I'm playing in where we switched to the updated rules has been a little slow to adopt weapon mastery. We don't bother with it a lot of the time, it's more something that players will pull out during a tough fight or if there's a specific reason to use an ability.

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

Thinking back, I can’t remember a moment where Clark changes into Superman. It’s possible I just dont recall it, it was a pretty busy film. Not that it has to have that, just interesting to leave out something that iconic.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

The point being, turn based combat means one person acts at a time.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

Turn based combat. Eg: If you line up a million people and each one uses a free action to pass a piece of paper (or whatever) from one person to the next, you can move that piece of paper an infinite distance in 6 seconds, based on how many people you can line up.

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

The movie was fun, but for me, I’m not sure Gunn’s style was a great fit for Superman. I think Gunn works better when writing for the more unknown D-list characters. For example, Mr Terrific was my favourite character in the film, I’d love to see him get his own spinoff movie or series. The...

Phase 5 of the MCU is over

Not that bad given this phase had both the pandemic and a writers strike to deal with. I feel they've managed to get their TV shows back on track after Secret Invasion. Next phase seems well set up, with F4 and a couple of Avengers films.

It's pretty safe to say it's whoever Villeneuve casts. ;)

    Winning and losing in RPGs...

I've always been uninterested in competition. Not caring about the need to win or lose is a large part of the attraction to RPG's for me. Roleplaying my character is the fun part for me.

    Spoilers Ironheart spoilers

I enjoyed the show. I was not expecting that ending, at all. Really hope we get a Season 2. I enjoyed The Hood as a character, so I was happy he wasn't killed off. One complaint I see a lot about Marvel is that they kill off villains too quickly. My main knowledge of Marvel these days comes...

D&D's New Solo Player Guideline Explained

I find a lot of players (especially new players learning the game) don't want to run multiple characters. And those that do struggle to get into character. This seems like an OK option for those peeps. Interesting that they're highlighting appropriate adventures for solo players, I wonder if...

The Running Man | Official Trailer

For the record, 'The Long Walk' was a Richard Bachman novel. In case I've piqued anyone's interest and you're not finding it searching 'Stephen King'. Getting back to The Running Man, I think a modern adaptation could be interesting, although it might feel more like a documentary these days.

The Running Man | Official Trailer

I only read the book a few years back, so I'm very interested to see how they adapt it. The trailer looked disturbingly accurate to the book.
