Aaron Allston's Strike Force Strikes Back In A New Edition

I have a copy of the original and loved it. I got into Champions because of the articles Allston wrote in The Space Gamer, particularly where he introduced Strike Force and discussed how the players actually split into two groups over the concept of killing villains. The original world he...

    DC TV and tiny cells

In the Comics, it's expected that supercriminals are constrained in special prisons, usually ones specially built for them to contain their powers and abilities. This hasn't had time to appear in any of the shows, so... what else are you going to do with someone who can turn into poisonous gas...

The 10 Most Anticipated Tabletop RPGs Of 2016 Are....

I had no idea that there had been a Delta Green kickstarter. Bummer.

Redemption, the Force, and Morality [No Ep 7 Spoilers]

One of the huge main problems in having any sort of discussion about Star Wars is that the prime source material is internally inconsistent, because Lucas.

Talking of IP infringement, this can't end well...

Given all the other weirdness in the thing, he may have confused Kickstarter with Indiegogo, where you get to keep pledged money even if the project does not fund.

    Where is the National Guard?

The feds have had a policy of ignoring or paying off most of the extreme-right-wing (and occassional left-wing) groups in that general region to keep from igniting another Waco or Ruby Ridge, though, so it could simply be that after their last dance, Bundy senses a possible pay-day out of all...

Redemption, the Force, and Morality [No Ep 7 Spoilers]

There's also another thing to consider - it's pretty obvious that the Jedi, by the time of the prequels, are not what they were. A lot of knowledge has been lost, and now, very possibly, Yoda is the last Jedi who remembers the old ways. Palpatine has also had decades to work his magic on them as...

    What's the best (non-Star Wars) sci-fi system/setting for fans of D&D 5e?

You might want to check out the Monte Cook site - the sister systems of The Strange and the basic Cypher System have plenty of starship/space stuff for them, which is directly compatible with Numenera. Savage Worlds is another good suggestion. There is a space-opera-y setting for it, High...

Do Christians and muslims worship the same God?

Also very likely. Possibly only taught to priests. 'Mystery Cults' are a big deal in just about any time period. Veering off into fiction, one of my favorite scenes in Jericho Moon is where Joshua becomes the high priest of Yahweh, only to discover that the real function of the priesthood is to...

Do Christians and muslims worship the same God?

It is really, really murky - very likely having been deliberately obscured by successive rounds of purges, etc, etc. There is definitely a period where the Jews are 'there are other gods, but El/Yah/whatever wants us to hold Him Preeminent', then X happens and suddenly they are 'There are no...

    The Expanse?

They do write it; there's a certain modern contingent of 'hard-sf' fans that, unless it's done with all-next-five-years tech and show-the-math, decry anything else as 'not hard-sf'. It's just more fan-wars, which can be ignored for the meaningless twaddle it always is, same as gaming edition-wars.

Do Christians and muslims worship the same God?

The answer I've always gotten is 'no', they consider that, at best, a false imaginary god and at worse a demon and/or Satan. Of course, I've also been told that when considering the various denominations within Christianity, or even within Protestantism. There are sects and churches of...

Crouching Tiger, Not so Hidden CGI (trailer)

Feh. They shunned the original because it had an Asian lead and cast, and was subtitled. Then all of a sudden when it made a pile of money, they flocked to it. The cinema lines need to realize they're living on borrowed time, anyway.

Do Christians and muslims worship the same God?

I saw some stuff about this very question the other day. The hard-line Protestant answer is, apparently, heck no. The addition of Jesus forms the triune God (that crucial bit where Jesus is both Jesus and God at the same time, along with the Holy Ghost) that is quite a bit different from God 1.0.

The Prequels, Episodes I-III. What did you like about them?

I liked a lot of the ship and planet designs. I liked Obi-Wan, esp in the first and second movies. Like Qui-Gon, and Darth Maul. I like the look and concept of Count Dooku, though we see far too little of him.

What piece of media did hype kill for you?

Having other people's opinions of things 'ruin' something you've never seen is about the silliest thing I've ever heard of. Same with 'hype'.
