The Dying Skyseer - release date?

Sweet! I have plenty of time to peruse it in time for next week's session. I already have one quick question, RangerWickett: Does the Cloudwood Switchback encounter have any plot links to the rest of the adventure, or is it just there to give the area a dangerous feel?

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

SPOILERS FOR THE DYING SKYSEER (Just in case players read these.) Today, we started The Dying Skyseer! Yesterday, I had a private email conversation with Vesta's player about the secret Vekeshi Mystic gathering. Vesta attended the gathering and accepted the task of delivering a magical mirror...

    Aftermath of Axis Island

Cool, thanks! I knew my PCs would be curious about what (if anything) was done with Asrabey. :) We had our first Dying Skyseer session today! I'll be updating my campaign log.

    Aftermath of Axis Island

I've been reading through the prerelease Dying Skyseer text in preparation for our Zeitgeist session today, and one thing I've noticed is that there's little to no mention of the events of Island at the Axis of the World. Some of the events were things that would have repercussions -- Asrabey...

The Flint Tribune - a little thing I made

Definitely still like the concept, and I know my players would appreciate it -- especially if it could be tweaked to reflect the specifics of their story. Edit: I might try to find some time this week to do one of my own, since some of the PCs agreed to give interviews after the Coaltongue...

    Previews: Dying Skyseer battlemaps

Sweet, thanks. This will help me get ready for next weekend's session. :)

Asrabey - which version? (spoilers of course)

I ran Asrabey with the level 20 stats. I kept the duchess and the golem at level 15, and the golem actually ended up making an attack roll. So I wanted to be consistent; there are powerful forces at work in Zeitgeist and if you run afoul of them then you face the brunt of their might. I also...

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

I used the level 20 Asrabey. I told my players about the options after the adventure was over and they all agreed that they were glad I used the level 20 stats.

You're welcome! If you have any questions about the specifics of what my players did, or how I handled a given situation that I didn't mention here, feel free to ask. :)

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

Session #3 happened as planned, but I've been too busy to post about it. The PCs elected to climb over the hills rather than taking the road route. They saw some pretty strange things, including the giant golem. They tried to lure the golem toward the keep to use it as a distraction, but it...

The Flint Tribune - a little thing I made

This would be fantastic, especially with Falkus' proposed tweak.

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

Had the second session on Wednesday night. They solved Lya's challenge instantly, which was pretty much what I expected. Murdok remembered Lya's thesis from her time at the war college, and had a bit of a fangirl moment. I gave them a little bonus gold for their success with the Coaltongue --...

Gears of Revolution: Notes on my campaign

[/COLOR] I treated the loss of the amber rod like the loss of a magical implement, and just gave her a modest attack penalty. That seemed to work OK. Having it as a wall actually worked well for me, but the way I ran it, the safety relief valves had been shut but not rusted when the encounter...

Two more thoughts: I'd add a circumstance bonus to the Intimidate check due to how close Asrabey is to going down. Second, I might make talking him down into a loose skill challenge, if my players decide to attempt it. Intimidate shouldn't be the only skill that matters.

Yikes. My PCs aren't exactly optimized, and with only four of them, attack assists net +6 max. Murdok is their striker, the Scout. Her spike damage would be hitting with a melee basic (1d10+6), adding Power Strike (+1d10 once per encounter), and then hitting with Dual Weapon Strike (a...

Not yet. I do use a Google Doc in my other play-by-video-chat game, where I'm a player and the party's scribe. So I keep the quest log and the XP/loot tracker. In this game we don't seem to have needed one yet, but I was thinking I might mention it to the players as a possibility.

One of my players emailed us today saying that he's already jonesing to play again and that he had a fantastic time. So you guys are definitely doing something right! Another player replied that she's "really excited by how much is out there, waiting for us." So between the Player's Guide and...

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

Our first session was yesterday. I'd prepped Act 1 of Island at the Axis of the World, figuring that if we did get all the way through the Coaltongue sabotage, it would be a good place to stop. SETUP We set up our Google+ hangout and made sure all our sound stuff was OK. I know there are...

Added on 2022-06-01: I see that we can (finally) change thread titles here. Needless to say, we're no longer using either Google+ or MapTool, so I've renamed this thread. (Former title: Campaign Notes: MapTool and Google+ Hangouts.) Wow, I can't believe I've been running this campaign (with...
