    A mystery race ?

I think Drow and Changeling are the most likely candidates, from what I've heard. I wouldn't be shocked, though, if they tossed in a draconic race of some sort (spellscale? something new?) -Stuart

Another *speculation* stat block : Ice dragon

D&D 4E Thoughts on 4E from an "Outsider"...

It is far from clear that the "three step shift" is referring to movement. -Stuart

Scott Rouse blog - Rogue ability

Whatever a "shift" is (I suspect condition rather than movement), it was part of a 'cool attack.' I find this interesting - the attack either improves your physical condition or gives you movement or somesuch. -Stuart

Re-building a character to fit the campaign

Some options: -Replace some/all of your Ranger levels with Scout or Fighter levels with Swashbuckler, Swordsage, or Warblade. -Crack open Unearthed Arcana and consider the Thug or martial Rogue instead of Fighter or the Urban Ranger instead of the normal Ranger. -Stuart

    Dragon's Tail Cut?

Me too. What if I just want to hit people so hard they fall down? Do I have to trip them? -Stuart

    What's a good combination of Paladin/Rogue/Sorcerer?

If what you want is to blow things up, you might consider Warmage instead of Sorcerer. Honestly, though? I'd suggest: Paladin 4/Sorcerer (or Battle Sorcerer) X/Abjurant Champion 5 Feats: Practiced Spellcaster, Divine Might Pick up some low-level spells to deal with traps and stuff...

    Interstitial Magic

I'd stick with "inter" instead of "trans" - Intermancy: between-magic? -Stuart

    Price (and name) this poison!

Seems expensive based on the poisons in the SRD. Knock it down to Unconsciousness for 2d4 hours and, say, 275 gp. Also, if what you really want is something cheap that will knock the dwarves out more reliably, consider less initial damage, but make it Con damage - thus reducing their Fort save...

    Insight Skill

Here's the quote in context: What part of this indicates anything about puzzles or problem-solving? From what is here, I'm getting "Sense Motive." There might be more to it than that, but I'm reading a lot of unfounded, wild speculation here. -Stuart

    Insight Skill

It might, but do we have any evidence of this? -Stuart

    Insight Skill

My guess is that Insight is a new skill that, among other things, killed Sense Motive and took its stuff. -Stuart

My players are trying to melt my head!

I'd have simply granted another wish (i.e., not this one): "OK. Your horse disappears and is replaced by a pile of fresh fish and an animated ball of yarn. The cat that was stalking the horse's tail looks delighted as its wish was granted." -Stuart

Odd question about Hydras in their element....

Why wouldn't the answer be B? A fireball is not a targeted magical effect. It has an area of effect. If the hydra's heads are in the area of effect, they should take the damage. It isn't like hydras are immune to fire. -Stuart

Unarmed combat: you can junk the monk

Ignoring the one-dimensional nature of your analysis, what does an analysis of 3.5e mechanics have to do with 4e, anyway? -Stuart
