    Dragon 334, Malhavoc's Surprise = Ptolus

I liked it better when it was a secret. Though...it could be good.

Just curious...are any of you non-d20 gamers who hang around here for the friendship?

You know, I play everything under the sun...I've mostly been playing d20 for the last couple of years, but I find myself drawn to the community. I tend to avoid most game specific or rules oriented discussion 'cause I'm fairly familiar with the sytems I play and house rule any difficulties. I...

    Dragon 334, Malhavoc's Surprise = Ptolus

I'm guessing a good old fashioned Box Set (super box set). Filled with wonderful gamery and adventurey type stuff that takes a lowly 1st level party to a mighty epic level party enabling them to challenge the gods. An astounding 1st-42nd level extraveganza! A world-shaping adventure...that...

Immersed in Lava - Have you ever seen it?

If I don't have lava in at least one aspect of my campaign I consider it a failure. So, I've rolled the dice a couple of times.

    Genre Conventions: What is fantasy?

See. That's the problem. To define one thing...you have to define everything else...in context. But, I'm just being a nuisance. Please ignore me.

    Fun Tricks with Useless Spells

One of my favorites is using mend as a basic aid for forgery. Have a King's Writ? Gently scratch out the [date, name, monetary value, property, legal term, or message]... cast mend and watch the paper reform into a nice clean printable surface... write in the more 'appropriate'...

    Genre Conventions: What is fantasy?

What do I want? I wanna be on a cruise ship for seven days. :) I forgot about this thread. I was gonna give mythusmage a good and proper response--and I will, just not today. I'm gonna be DMing in about an hour, so probably on Monday or Tuesday...after my weekend without internet...sorry...

    Is this character too pwerful?

This has happened to me as well. One player in particular, would automatically spout this every time I raised my eyebrows...I would just say 'no, you didn't' and he would go about explaining how he did and where we were sitting. It's funny cause I really don't care if other people are...

    Humbling defeats

I'm not sure if this is in the nature of the thread, but: Long time ago, a sauve halfling thief was meandering through a delightfully posh galla when he desided to dust off some off his pickpocketing skills. Now, the thief was around 9th or 10th level, very wealthy, very respected in the city...
