Every revolution of 'Core' books themed by Power Source?

I like this idea, and it makes sense since the teaser cover of the PHB even says "Guide to Martial, Divine, and Arcane Heroes." I will miss the monk, the bard, the druid, and their friends, but I would rather see them done well the first time.

    No Druid in PHB?

I see the Druid probably going the way of the other "Problem Child" of 3e: The Bard, though for different reasons. The Bard was a class that tried to do everything and wound up doing nothing particularly well. The Druid was a class that tried to do everything, and would up doing it TOO well...

    Rpgnow creditcard information stolen

Good thing I lose my credit cards fairly regularly. I can't keep the same credit card number for more than a few months, so I'm sure the information they had was horribly outdated.

    Variant rules for campaign flavor

I had an idea for an unusual campaign while reading Tome of Battle, and I'm wondering what you think of the house rules. The campaign would take place in a clockpunk and anime-influenced version of rennaissance Europe, though with any historical accuracy purely coincidental. Every PC and major...

    Tired of "Mana"

While it's true that mana comes from Polynesian mythology, it was also present in Norse mythology. Though in Norse myth, it specifically referred to white magic. There's also: Sekhem (Egypt) Prana (India) Sila (Inuit) Quintessence (alchemy) Olodumare (Yoruba) I'm partial to having it measured...

    Henry on Atkins?

I've lost 8 lbs in 4 weeks on a plan similar to Psionicist's. Negative caloric balance brought about by eating whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies, lean cuts of meat, and lowfat milks and cheeses, enhanced by a vigorous exercise program. I even eat junk food too, just don't do stuff like...

Songs that define who you are

Falling for the first time, by Barenaked Ladies. I'm so cool, too bad I'm a loser I'm so smart, too bad I can't get anything figured out I'm so brave, too bad I'm a baby I'm so fly, that's probably why it Feels just like I'm falling for the first time I'm so green, it's really amazing I'm so...

    Hawaiian Flavor type game?

First of all, no technology above neolithic. Very advanced neolithic tech, but neolithic nonetheless. The best weapons should be spears. No swords. Some stone knives. Clubs and maces exist, and morningstars would be replaced by shark-toothed clubs. Culturally, it was very comprabale to feudal...

D&D 4E The Daily "4e is Coming! Theory" Thread

I've noticed the "anonymous sources" that some people claim to have (at least those who seem to be serious) have been relatively stable on when it will be. For instance, they started out saying that it's merely planned. Then they said it's in development. Then playtesting. Most recently they've...

    You South Parked

http://www.geocities.com/stampede274/robert.bmp Copy and paste into your browser window, otherwise it won't work. And yes, I do have a shotgun and knife. And that is the shirt and pants I'm wearing right now. And I do look that sleep deprived. Hrm...I may be a danger to myself and/or others.

Oh no! Fireball in a 10ft. hallway!

And yes, the walls do take damage. Odds are not much, since the most a fireball can do is 10d6 (10-60, average 35), masonry walls have hardness 8, 90 HP, and fire damage is halved to objects. At most, you are looking at 22 points of damage to the wall, enough to blast through about two inches of...

Ancient Aryan civilization achieved incredible technological progress 40 centuries ag

Of course it isn't the only method, but historical records and local legends certainly imply that invasion was a key component. Many ancient Indian holy texts are practically a record of such invasions, played out as a metaphorical war between good and evil. Also, I'm curious about the horse...

Ancient Aryan civilization achieved incredible technological progress 40 centuries ag

Oh, I wasn't saying invasion/replacement. I'm more for invasion/assimilation. That was the story with the Mongols, who universally adopted the local culture wherever they conquered, and the Franks, who attempted to recreate Rome after they destroyed it.

Ancient Aryan civilization achieved incredible technological progress 40 centuries ag

They probably shared a common ancestor, along with the Iranians. I'm a historian, not an archeologist, but I see a similar pattern to the Aryan invasion that occured with the Huns and the Mongols. All of them came from the steppes of central asia, but to call them "Russian," "Indian," or most of...

Have you been disillusioned by the Forgotten Realms?

Never really cared for it much. Mostly because I've been under some VBDMs in it, bt the experience really soured me.

Have you been disillusioned by Eberron?

I'm running Age of Worms, but I'm setting it pretty firmly in Eberron. I remove things here and there and add more Eberronish touches, like making clear the resemblence between a shield guardian and a warforged. I even added Cauldron, or at least its remains, to the Barrier Peaks region. If we...

Knowledge (Local) - How Does Your Group Use and Define It

I've lived in the same area all my life. It's a relatively small but growing town situated in the mountains. Don't ask me where anything is. I don't know the names of any important political figures. I was surprised to find out we had more than one nightclub. However, some of my friends know...

A Maximum on Stat-Increasing Magical Items?

Normally the stacking problems negate that. You can wear a circlet of charisma +6, a cloak of charisma +6, and, I dunno...sunglasses of charisma +6, but you'd only get a total of +6. Such would also make the eagle's splendor spell pointless for you.

    The Baghdad Battery

I was worried this thing had been lost in the looting. There's also the possibility that it was meant to be a device like Leonardo da Vinci envisioned that would have held a papyrus scroll and, if opened improperly, destroyed it with vinegar.
