    Funniest DM/player faux pas

My most recent was when the party was fighting a monk bad guy. I was reading his bonus feats (Stunning Blow, Deflect Arrow and Snatch Arrows) and got a little tripped up. "He uses his Stunning Snatch feat to catch the arrow" The game was pretty much shot for the rest of the night.

    Piratecat ruined my D&D game

Ive been using APs for a while now, but the pcs mainly hoard them to stay alive. I'm about to add swashbuckling cards for more unpredictable stuff. Do you just give two at the beginning of the session or have some other system for it?

    Introducing new characters

New PC: "Could you untie me? The blood is rushing to my head from being tied upside down. And toss me those clothes? Oh and don't bother that pile of gear over there. Its mine" Old PCs: "Sure, nice to meet ya"

    The Economics of Identify

While this is a beautiful description, I wonder if you play a standard 3.5 game. In a standard game, by 5th level, most npcs are going to be carrying a magic weapon, armor, or other items. Do you go into this kind of description for every single item? I just don't have that kind of...

    Piratecat ruined my D&D game

I know the feeling. I wish my campaign had half the cohesiveness and metaplot of Sagiro's and Pkitty's games. Realizing that character turnover is probably the biggest killer of continuity, I've done a lot of things to keep people playing the same characters. I've added action points that...

    The Economics of Identify

I allow for a modified version of Identify, takes 8 hours and costs nothing.

[Age of Worms] Law in Diamond Lake? (Potential spoilers!)

My version of the law in Diamond Lake was according to Ballabar Smenk, who pretty much ran the town. (My version of Diamond Lake was HBO's Deadwood, with Smenk being Al Swearengen. I believe Phindar was in that game). If Smenk would profit from it or it didnt hurt him, then it was legal...

The Golden Raspberries -- Snakes On a Plane was robbed!

I guess they're entitled to thier opinion. I'll stand by the statement though...critics should still be eaten. :) (I thought that part of the story was dead-on)

The Golden Raspberries -- Snakes On a Plane was robbed!

    M. Night Shamalyan is right...all critics need to be eaten by CGI grass-wolves. Lady in the Water was a good movie.

    Battlestar Galactica 22/01/07

Now, if they could just box the Apollo/Starbuck love storyline. Good episode, liked Helo chastising Rosilyn.

    Rakshasas hiding in Arcanix

Thanks for the suggestion! (Runs off to read the item in Sharn book)

    Rakshasas hiding in Arcanix

While I love the idea of them replacing the casters that could detect them, they already have specific identities they are playacting. (Reminds me of FaceDancers in Dune) Thanks for the input...I guess I was really wanting a sanity check before continuing to design the plot background.

    Rakshasas hiding in Arcanix

Arcanix is the home of a floating magical college in Eberron. My game has been treating it a lot like Hogwart's. Being a center of magical knowledge, I figured that there would be a few wizards that were high enough level to cast the spell and was trying to figure a way around it. But as you...

    Rakshasas hiding in Arcanix

Hmmm...even more complications. Would like to stick with the idea, but not sure how its going to work. I read some more...they are Outsiders (Native), so the Protection from Evil wouldn't affect them any differently than any evil person (which I assume that Arcanix has a few). Dismissal and...

    Rakshasas hiding in Arcanix

So, I need some ideas on how a pair of Rakshasas (Rakshasi?) could pose as professors in Arcanix. I put in rules because it mainly deals with how they could stay hidden when True Seeing can see through thier Change Shape ability. So far, all I could come up with is that they use mundane...

    Drow - good for anything?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention he'll be playing a bard. That should more than balance him :)

    Drow - good for anything?

I've got a player planning to play one in my game. I let him drop the LA altogether if he spent a feat and dropped the SR. May not be totally balanced statswise, but I intend to make it balanced due to roleplaying considerations (prejudices etc).
