    3.5 "Planar" Adventure Path?

I’m willing to consider any quality ideas. Well, remember, levels were different back then; characters advance WAY more quickly now. I bet, if converted to 3E, it probably WOULD run 1-20. But, I’m still in the brainstorming phase, so, in short, I’m really not sure. ;) Yeah, I kinda like...

    3.5 "Planar" Adventure Path?

Not yet, but working on it! :) They're currently 10th level in Shackled City, hitting 5th in "Age of Worms". Differnet strokes for different folks. ;) That's another reason for the "Planar" Path; great variety over the course of a single campaign.

Any Videos of a Good D&D Session?

The guys over at www.rpgmp3.com have put some of their sessions up as audio files. (Don't know of anyplace that does video sessions, unfortunately.) Additionally, the folks over at Yog-Sothoth have posted their entire entire "Masks of Nyarlathotep" campaign (for Call of Cthulhu) as audio...

    3.5 "Planar" Adventure Path?

First: Thanks for the input everyone! It's appreciated! :) No, doesn’t need to be tied to Planescape directly, though that line IS a major influence for me. I WOULD plan on using the Great Wheel cosmology, though. Definitely the latter. I very much enjoying reading modules done in the...

    3.5 "Planar" Adventure Path?

Anyone know of any? (Either online or for purchase would be fine.) ... Or, failing that, anyone interested in helping me CREATE one? I know that there are several "anthology" modules, and several of the Planescape modules are designed to be tentatively connected, and there have been modules...

    Hows your Campaign going?

Oddly, we killed Smenk at the Old Observatory (blame the Kobold for that.); Filge, however, the party decided to keep alive (against the Kobold's wishes.) We ended up turning him over to the Cult of the Green Lady. I fully expect Diamond Lake to be overrun by Undead when we finally make it...

Continuing your campaign or starting fresh?

Most of my group is pretty "MEH" about 4E, actually. None of us particualrly want to re-invest time and money in learning another variation of the game we've played through three (and a half) editions. That, and we're only into Adventure 2 of "Age of Worms". And I want to run "Savage Tide"...

    Hows your Campaign going?

WOW! You've way outpaced my group! We meet weekly, and (at Session 22) are only 2/3'rds through TFoE! (Of course, our sessions are probably much shorter than "average" D+D sessions, since we meet on THursday evenings...)

Shackled City: What's a good Class for it?

Given the party list, I'd say a Cleric would fit the bill nicely. Maybe even make a Cleric of Kord, or St. Cuthbert or Pelor, or possibly Wee-Jas. (IIRC, those are the main chrches in Cauldron, right?)

David Noonan's historical perspective on 3.0 (Update: Part III posted)

Out of curiosity, how long would you imagine "quite a while" is? (Six months? 1 year? Longer?) And how many people participated in these tests? And how many are true RPG'ers? (IIRC, there were mentions of "newbies" [people brought in from marketing] as some of the "internal playetesters.)...

David Noonan's historical perspective on 3.0 (Update: Part III posted)

I know we'll never have "unlimited" playtest time, and stuff WILL slip through the cracks regardless of the exhaustiveness... And I don't know what "average" playtesting times are, but it seems to me that this is a VERY short time-frame; playtesting packets are just going out now, and the book...

    Hows your Campaign going?

Cool thread! I love reading about other peoples games! :) OUr campaign is going smoothly so far; we lucked out in having a grop that really enjoys each other and works well together. :) We're 2/3'rds of the way through "Three Faces of Evil" (the second part of the "Age of Worms" path.)--...

David Noonan's historical perspective on 3.0 (Update: Part III posted)

Why would you not want to test everything? Epsecially with something as high-profile (and arguably controversial) as 4E? Not to derail or devolve this into a 4E-bashing thread (since I'm still pretty neutral about whether my group is upgrading or not), but the playtesting situation (or lack...

    Big Props for Erik Mona

I guess we can't rule that out, can we? :p Now I have to go look for the other thread, since I somehow missed it. (I'm only in the 4eE forums sporadically.)

    Big Props for Erik Mona

Nah, I think this thread is warranted. (And Well Said, Orcus.) :) I think Erik (and James, and all the staff at Paizo) deserve all the kudos they get. (And while we're shamelessly hyping, I'll throw in a "Props" for Orcus, as well.) :D They did a spectacular job with the stewadship of...

D&D 3.x Have the designers of 3e said anything about 4e?

I actually think Monte makes quite a bit of sense in the blog post that was linked here. In particular: I can't agree with this strongly enough. I agree that there should always be a plethora of materials on the shelf for the D+D brand, but I think it would be preferable to see more...

    What should the Realms Lose?

HA HA HA! Awesome. You win this thread. :) Seriously? A) Kill Elminster; retirment is too good for him. B) Kill DRizzt; as above. (As a side note: LESS DROW overall, please. I feel horribly biased and abusive towards them after reading the "War of the SPider Queen" series.) C) Use the RSE...

Midnight changes from 1e to 2e?

Oops; you are correct; my bad! (Templars are from "Dark Sun"- Legates are from "Midnight".)

Midnight changes from 1e to 2e?

Offhand, the main thing I remember is that they incorporated the PLayers Guide ("Against the Shadow") into the main rulebook. That means there's new Heroic Paths, new rules for Herbs/Herbalism, etc. There's a revised version of the compiled spell list. Oh, and the Templar is now an NPC class...
