New article at the Delver's Dungeon - at long last!

Cool. Mini-adventues are a GOOD thing. Alot of times we can't get the whole group together, so those would fit the bill nicely as "fill-ins". About as good (or bad) as you remember them!! More or less literal translations of the arcade games (though they play much quicker; I think...

    D&D 4E Time to spin out a 4E forum?

First off, thanks and kudos to the mods (esp. Dinkeldog & Umbran)! You've all been doing a great job keeping threads "on track" and (mostly) civil. I certainly don't envy you your position at this point! To the matter at hand: FWIW, I personally am in favor of a 4E forum as well. (I more or...

New article at the Delver's Dungeon - at long last!

Thanks for that! A nice change from the 4E threads. And some games I'd all but fogotten about. (Though will I confess I have the DVD set that contain playable versions of Dragons Lair I/II and Space Ace!!) :heh:

    Necromancer's City of Brass

Well, I'm all over this! (COme next payday.) I have yet to be disappointed with a Necro release, even at that price point. (I'm a card-carrying RAR member!!)

D&D 3.x 3.5 is the REAL reason everyone is angry

But Paizo was doing just that, with Dungeon Magazine. Unless I'm misremembering, they had a "Core-Only" policy, and people loved it! (And any "Add-ons" from "Complete XXX" or whatever simply needed a few words of explanation.) SO, it IS do-able. (THough not to WotC's advantage, granted.)

Will the electronic table top affect miniature sales?

Yup; I was only half-joking about "Virtual Minis". :) I don't think physcial DDM sales will be impacted at all, actually; I honestly think many people who buy DDM are "Collectors", as well as "Players." SO, I can see both options as viable for Wizards. (Of course, I'm no businessman....)...

Anyone bought new products, like Castle Whiterock?

Any "City of Brass" info would be appreciated, too! It'll be a few weeks 'til I can get my copy. :)

Will the electronic table top affect miniature sales?

    Two words: Virtual Minis.

Malibu Stacey has a new hat!

THIS is what rather annoyed me. (Even more than the "No Plans for 4E"/"Been in development for 2 years" fracas.) As someone who is rather apathetic about 4E (I don't hate it, but I'm not looking forward to it, either), TPTB saying "Don't bother converting; start a new 4E campaign!" really rubs...

    Penguin!

Nice change from the "4E is coming!!" threads. Thanks! Haven't a chance to try this yet, but... A) Penguins and B) Reiner Knizia How can it be bad? :D

D&D 3.x 3.5 is the REAL reason everyone is angry

After heavily investing in oWOD (I literally have bookcases full of books for it), I had no desire to line White-Wolf's pocket anymore for nWOD; I speak with my wallet. Ditto for Exalted. (I -might- have continued with 2E Exalted, but it seemd they just re-released updates of the same books...

D&D 4E Sight unseen - what are your plans for 4E?

I will LOOK at 4E, but likely not switch. I remember how long it took my group to update to 3.5, and the anti 3.5 sentiment, and those were only MINOR changes in the grand-scheme of things. Besides, we're involved with both "Shacked City" (9th level, about halfway through the path), and "Age...

What old setting would you like to see republished?

FWIW, I voted for: Dark Sun Planescape Ravenloft Al-Qadim Spelljammer

    RIFTS Machinations of Doom

Q.F.T. Love the setting, hate the rules.

    D&D Brand Manager of Fluff

Angelic Voices: A Guide to the Seven Heavens. Self-explantory; done in the vein of the old 2E “Guide to Hell”, and the old Dragon article “The Nine Hells” by Ed Greenwood. Book of Artifacts. Everyone knows ‘em, everyone loves ‘em. This has been somewhat touched on in “Magic of Incarnum”...

So, what if a player does a 'weak' build?

INteresting question, and one that's been brough up quite a bit lately. Personally? My take is that the group of players form a party, and, as heroes, they're are SUPPOSED to watch each others backs, try to mitigiate situations where some people are unskilled. Sure, you may not be efficient in...

    My simple prediction about Gleemax

OK, that reply wasn’t specifically directed at me, but I feel compelled to reply anyway. Hope that’s OK!! ;) That’s the problem, IMO. Rather than seeing it as a challenge to entice older customers back into the fold, (and there ARE no irrelevant customers!), WotC is seemingly trying to...

    My simple prediction about Gleemax

ITA with that. And I've felt that way for some time. The ratio of Wizards products to non-Wizards products I've bought in the last year is staggering. There's still some quality 3rd-party stuff out there! (About the only thing I buy from Wizards is the occasional "Eberron" book. Though I do...
