Wizards of the Coast and Golden Age of Fantasy

WOW! I can see the point you're trying to make. But, as a cinephile, I'll say that that's a REALLY broad (not to mention flawed!!)generalization. I like the current top10 film list. But I also realize that just becase a movie doesn't make a BILLION DOLLARS, doesn't mean it's...

Which ENWorlder Would You Want to Meet?

Not even a little? :p ANYWAY.. Thanks to the Boston Gamedays, I've met a fair few Enworlders already. Offhand, of those I haven't met, the ones I'd most like to meet, offhand: Col_Pladoh: Goes without saying. Erik Mona: I respect his dedication and comittment to producing quality products...

War of the Burning Sky Questions [Possible Spoilers]

Hardcover, you say? OOOOH! Is it too soon to ask for info on that? (Especially the considered price-point?) :) I have the PDF's and was thinking of picking up the POD's but I may opt for the hardcover instead.... Yeah, I'm defninitely looking forward to the novels.

What ever happened to that Midnight movie?

Try here (I think that's the correct address, anyway!)

My Opinion of WOTC's Digital Initative and the current events

Wow! This is getting silly. Again, I agree. I think that a smaller run of releases would be feasible, and wouldn't truly fracture the core group of players. (With much of the Planescape cosmology already integrated into the "Core" material, I'd love to see a revised "Planescape" campaign...

My Opinion of WOTC's Digital Initative and the current events

I agree. (Surprise, surprise!) :p I don't think the future of D+D is digital, though it may (and, in fact, probably SHOULD) be a COMPONENT of it. A charcter-generator online could prove useful in the extreme for those who use a lot of the supplemental material and sourcebooks, (or the...

My Opinion of WOTC's Digital Initative and the current events

I don't think that's necessarily true. Is WoW more convenient? Sure. Easier to learn? Sure. And the time factor you mention is a draw as well. But is it as "thrilling", even for a modern 13-year old? I'm not so sure. How excited can one get about a DVD you pop into a computer? I'm not sure...

My Opinion of WOTC's Digital Initative and the current events

I think we were seperated at birth, Najo!

My Opinion of WOTC's Digital Initative and the current events

Interesting thoughts, Najo; very thoughtful, and some good ideas. I agree with you, for the most part. I think they need to illustrate the DIFFERENCES between PNP and CRPGS. And, as I said previously, I think the two breeds of gamers (Console vs. RL) are much more disparate than WizBro seems to...

War of the Burning Sky Questions [Possible Spoilers]

Well, given that only the first three modules are out thus far, all my comments will pertain mainly to them. :) How do they compare to the Pazio AP's? Very favorably, IMO. "Savage Tide" has the reminsicene factor ("Isle of Dread!" "Demogorgon!") goign for it, where WotBS offers a much...

My Opinion of WOTC's Digital Initative and the current events

I disagree. What's does D+D offer that WOW doesn't? Quite simply? The ability to use your imagination. It gives you the chance to place yourself into fantastical worlds and situations, and interact with the denizens therein, in whatever way you choose. I'm not a WOW/MMORPG person, but I tend...

Pathfinder 1E Showing Paizo Support [merged with 'Thanks Paizo' thread]

Yes, I't tenatively in for "Pathfinder" as well. But I really want the Plushy Goblin toys!!! :p

Moderator's Reminder: Keep things civil [EDIT: UPDATED BY MORRUS - FINAL WARNING]

Yeah, first off, "Kudos" to Morrus and all the mods for keeping things under control as much as possible!! :D I agree, Wingsandsword. What about those who don't have consistent 'Net access? Withot knowing anythjing about the new prgram, that seems to be one of the fundamental flaws of the...

WotC Replies: Statements by WotC employees regarding Dragon/Dungeon going online

I, OTOH, feel just the opposite . (ETools, anyone? Not directly comparable, granted, but it doesn't instill me with confidence. And they only TRULY started their "Digital Initiative" within the last year, didn't they?) I think alot of the preveant hostility seems to flow from the seeming...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Well, 'tis a royal shame. I've been a fan of "Dragon" and "Dungeon" since they began. With the advent of 3.0 and 3.5, I think Erik and co. have done a spectacular job with thethe mags! But to make this post somewhat optimistic, I'd like to make a shout-out, and give the biggest of "THanks"...

The Year of Drizzt? (20th Anniversary)

I'll chime in with the "UGGH!", "NOOOOOOOOO!", and "DO NOT WANT" posters. The "Drizzt-clone" theory is not just a myth, at least speaking for my experiences. I -still- find people who want to play the "Angsty Drow Exiled from the Underdark, hunted by his evil brethren" *SHUDDER* The first...

    After years of gaming...

I understand the OP's frustration completely. My group and I have gone through some arguments that sound similar to that. DOn't give up altogether, though! Try a different game (True20, C&C, OSRIC, etc.), or take an break for awhile, see how things go!

Crown of the Kobold King Cover--What do you guys/gals think?

Seconded. I thought it might be, but wasn't sure until you confirmed it.
