Pathfinder 1E Advice for way of the wicked?

Yes, my players, while not happy about the pact of thorns contract deal went along with it. The only problem was our Monk, who had ALREADY sold his soul to Asmodeus, and didn’t want this to conflict with his existing pact. I had Thorn pull out the old “Ah, Asmodeus mentioned you specifically”...

Magic the Gathering - Deck Inspiration help

That's a pretty broad question.. :) Tell us about yourself and your play style. A) What color(s) do you prefer to play? B) Are you a casual or competetive player? C) What "type" of player are you? (Are you someone who likes Creature-Heavy Decks? Controlling the tempo of the game? Being...

Pathfinder 1E Advice for way of the wicked?

Yes, our group caught on to the fireplace trick, so they sent Grumblejack (whom they affectionally call “Apple Jacks”) to fight the guards on the stairs, and they headed down into the kitchen, where they promptly killed the two cooks (with a pot of boiling oil.) For those who know the Muppets...

Pathfinder 1E Advice for way of the wicked?

At this point, I figured I'd run the Branderscar scenario and the Nine Lessons, and see how people like the feel of the game. [Most players in our group are not "White-Hats" but neither are they typically out and out villains. But everyone seemed interested in at least giving it a try.] I made...

    latest gaming purchase ?

In print, I've mostly been picking up items to fill out my collections lately. (I completed my Ars Magica 5th and Exalted 2E collections.) The newest print book I picked up was the 3E "Cthulhu by Gaslight", and the new Marvel SuperHeroes book, since our campaign starts this Monday. PDF's are...

[DC Comics] The New 52: Second Wave

I picked up both "Dial H", and "GI Combat." I had high hopes for Dial H, and GI COmbat was an impulse buy. But I was quite impressed wiht them both. (I've been a fan of "Dial H" in all it's incarnations since I was a little kid.) And, fortunately, it seems like there's little chance for...

Pathfinder 1E [D&D or Pathfinder] Boston, MA

I'd also recommend any of the D+D meetup groups. (There's a few locally.) They usually meet once a month or so; the one I frequent is at the Watertown Public Libtrary, but there may be some closer to you. (Go to meetup.com and poke around, see what you find.) Our Thursday night group...

The Express Diaries - Horror on the Orient Express Novelisation

I'm eagerly awaiting the novelization of HotOE, and I'm glad a campaign 20 years old is still getting some press and publicity! And, (free plug ) if you haven't yet, I would HIGHLY recommend any of the audio games Paul and company post. Over the course of 6+ years, they've run through some of...

Novels with extensive D&D-style ruin/dungeon exploration?

I'd recommend the "Ancient Blades" trilogy by David Chandler. Decently written, likable characters, and just plain FUN to read. Book 2 ("A Thief in the Night") takes place almost entirely in an underground dwarven city inhabited prmarily by undead, and is quite compelling.

Boston Game Day on 3/10/12: registration for games is open!

Thanks, Piratecat! Much obliged! (And add me in for yummy BBQ.) Though I'm somewhat bummed about Cthulhu, I'm pretty go with the flow, and I like Savage Worlds. (And that was probably the game I would have opted for I hadn't offered to run!) Myabe we'll roll out the Cthulhu wagon at some...

Boston Game Day on 3/10/12: registration for games is open!

I'm pretty flexible with rolling with whatever happens. (i'll pacl some extra Cthulhu options for the day.) While I like the Roman Era/Invictus setting, I was afraid that it might not be a HUGE draw, though I find "Swords and Sandals" setting a fun departure from "Standard" CoC. (My gerular...

    [February] What are you reading?

My reading list has currently grown substansially. For fiction, I’m currently reading the “Ancient Blades” trilogy by David Chandler (which I’m quite enjoying. On the back-burner are the “Acacia” trilogy, “Magebane”, and the “John Carter of Mars” collection. I also regularly pick up new...

Recommend a Call of Cthulhu One-Shot

While overall I like the module, it’s not a great “First Module to Run”, IMO. I find that this module is VERY dependent on the Keeper composing reasons as to why a group of investigators would WANT to follow-up on this case. As written, there’s no personal link as to why the Investigators...

Recommend a Call of Cthulhu One-Shot

Well, there’s a metric ton of phenomenal supplements and one-shots out there. And a lot is dependent on the setting you and your players prefer. For a first adventure, I would defintely recommend “The Haunting” from the Core Book. You really can’t go wrong with that. Beyond that? I would...

Boston Game Day on 3/10/12: registration for games is open!

Could you kindly sign me up for the M&M game in the afternoon. (I'm running CoC for the morning shift.) Could you sign my friend Bruce (you know him, you love him! B-)) up for the Night Black Agents game in the AM, and the Marvel SuperHeroes game in the pm? As always, thanks for organizing...

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

I guess I’m deciding on Call of Cthulhu. Here’s the “blurb” for the adventure I’m running. (If we need more DM’s for a second slot, please LMK, so that I can pick a second module to run.) **** Adventus Regis (Part I of the “Ripples from Carcosa” trilogy) -A Call of Cthulhu adventure set in the...

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

Yup, I'm available to run if needed [though I am interested in playing in the "IntelligentApes" superhero game if that happens!]. And, out of curiousity, I assume this new location is T-accessible? My friend and I should be coming together, but just in case, I'd like to know other options...

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

Thanks for the FYI, Piratecat! These events are always something to look forward to. And thanks to nerfwright, as well, for offering up his place to host. Barring any crises between now and then, I'm in, and I can offer to run something (likely a pre-existing Call of Cthulhu scenario?) if...
