D&D with "alt film" stars: the WotC interview

Is this the same blog discussed here?

How much suspension of disbelief do you require?

I agree that it depends upon the genre. I play in a fairly standard 4E homebrew game and I also play in a Golden Age M&M game. I am willing to accept different things depending. Roughly 70:30 in character versus meta talk. It depends upon the group and the game. We tend to do more RP in...

    Last Names in your Campaign

We had a rule in our old Eberron game that if you inquired about the name of an NPC that the DM hadn't given you, you had to make it up yourself. In our current campaign, my dwarf Snorri has clan name, Ironaxe, which he occasionally gives if asked, as dwarves in this campaign are very attached...

Players dissatisfied with level of danger in 4e

The really lethal ones combined enemies and terrain or traps. The golems and the acid pit, The wererats and the acid cloud trap, The duergar and the exploding cave pillars, The black pudding/sticky slime floor combo Straight up fights in featureless areas are far easier than a challenging...

    New Iron Man 2 trailer

I wonder about the danger of introducing too many characters in to the plot, but I am excited to see this.

Players dissatisfied with level of danger in 4e

Funny enough, we were talking about these sorts of threads before our session on Sunday. It amazes me when I read threads about how D&D combat isn't lethal enough or statements to that effect. We've just hit 7th level, and we've had five characters die, two from failed death saves, three from...

What D&Disms have you never liked?

I agree with most of the D&Disms mentioned. My personal list consist of mainly those things that have been removed from prior editions such as: Item restrictions on rangers and paladins, leading to such questions as "If a ranger can only own what he can carry, how can he own a mount?" Related...

Edition wars...a GOOD thing? or if not, an APPROPRIATE thing?

I'm sure the executives of Toyota, Goldman Sachs and AIG take great comfort that "Hey, at least we're not WotC."

    Character class quotes

I miss those. If and when 5E comes our way, I hope they put the cartoons back in.

What do you get out of signatures?

My only qualm with other people's signatures are when they are longer than whatever post they are making. I really appreciate people who make use of the spoiler function in their signatures. My signature is not witty or amusing, but it is, as of this moment, functional.

    Any Dinotopia-like settings?

Sauriels were in older editions of Forgotten Realms. I'm not sure how much attention was given to their culture outside from Azure Bonds, but that might provide a source of inspiration.

what are the ramifications of points-of-light?

Great image, especially with regards to Sharn. Living on the lower tower levels would be especially problematic.

Your FLGS and You - What's your take?

I tend to buy from either the Borders or Barnes and Noble in town, as both have a surprisingly well stocked selection, Borders more so than B&N. There is one store in town, but it is just getting going under new ownership, so its inventory is rather low, but it is close. It would be nice if...

    Adventuring party names

Back in Basic D&D, we were the Company of the Gold Crown, being either a reference to the King or the humble gold piece depending upon the situation. In 4E we were the Aramil Experience featuring Thrrak, but Aramil died last session, so the name is up in the air for now. I'll bring it up when...

Help! I need a rules-lite super hero RPG

This is very true. We play a Golden Age game, with all that come with it. We know this going in and we accept it for the good of the game. Eep! I'm a Luck whore, I'll freely admit. I tend to take half PL as a matter of course. You know, I don't think our group has ever used Action Points...

Subjectivity, Objectivity, and One True Wayism in RPGs

Perhaps I am an anomaly then, as I don't believe I've ever threatened to put someone on my ignore list or informed them prior to doing so. My list here has been compiled quietly.

    Heroes Vol 5 #19:Brave New World/Season 4/2010

That would be nice. They need to do something with the character. I thought that he influenced the multiple guy to tell the truth to the carnival people. One thing though, doesn't Parkman live in California? Did he move to NYC at some point, because otherwise Peter and Sylar got to Central...

    Doctor Who

I wondered that was well, but decided to overlook it for the sake of the story, but kept coming back to how it just didn't make sense, which in turn, dampened the impact of the story.
