    Anyone seen 3:10 to Yuma?

I'm not certain, but from my understanding he hurled a telephone indiscriminately and it hit one of the hotel staff. Russell Crowe apologized and I believe the staff member profited monetarily. I'm not saying the guy doesn't have a juvenile temper, but I don't think he tackled the guy and caved...

October - What are you Watching?

No prob. I don't blame you for not catching on that it was a comedy--the description doesn't really give that impression and the premise does sound dark.

October - What are you Watching?

From TV.com: They got me to watch by having Kevin Smith direct the pilot. I really enjoyed it, but I'm curious to see if that was just Kevin's handiwork or if the show has its own legs.

I really enjoyed it. Very strong performances.

October - What are you Listening to?

I don't really listen to any gaming podcasts, but I am addicted to SModcast: Kevin Smith's weekly podcast with his producer buddy Scott Mosier. It's raunchy as hell (as one would expect with a Kevin Smith product) and is really entertaining (to me anyway).

Lost Heroes The Office My Name Is Earl Reaper The Ultimate Fighter Simpsons (sometimes) Avatar I'll probably catch a little Hockey Night in Canada and Saturday Night Live too.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 3 Starts Tonight!

I loved that Aang and Kitara seemed to be doing Capoeira moves in their dance together.

    Reaper 9-25

So far, of the new fall series, I've watched Chuck, Reaper, and Big Bang Theory. While they all had their moments, Reaper was my favourite so far. It was really funny and has a pretty strong cast. It's hard to say on TV how much of that was due to Kevin Smith (I'm a huge fan of his), but I'll...

    [Dragonlance Movie] Music Preview

That was a pretty decent song. I'm still a little hesitant about this flick based off the preliminary artwork. I'm hoping it ends up looking nice once it is all done.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 3 Starts Tonight!

I forgot too, but luckily I saw this thread and set my DVR to record while I went out to watch the Shaolin Monks do their thing. Just got back and watched the ep...it was pretty cool.

    Wheel of Time?

Hey I really enjoyed the first four books of the series. It drew me in right away and I got into the characters to point I actually cared about them (as much as one can for fictional characters in a book--still, more than I can say for most books). I guess that is why from book 6 on I found it...

    Wheel of Time?

I think I was the one that used the term "bully", and I mostly get that from book six where Egwene, Nynaeve, and Elayne all think about forcing Matt to do what they want through their magic (and I don't think that is the first time in the series either, though not always directed at Matt)...

    Non-Superhero Books

I liked this one too. 'Ringo will be missed. :(

    Thundarr the Barbarian dvd?

Well, Kirby also created the Black Racer and Granny Goodness, so not everything he came up with was pure gold. :p But I would agree that I found Thundarr more watchable than Blackstarr, but it just didn't hold my interest for long. Perhaps it was because it was a little before my time (I...

    Wheel of Time?

Not to speak ill of the dead (I'll always respect the man at the least), but it isn't the same to me. The length of WoT would encompass years worth of comic book story lines. With WoT it is basically one finite story stretched out past plausibility; in the comics world, you'd get a lot more...

    Thundarr the Barbarian dvd?

I've never seen one, but when the Blackstarr one was I went on You Tube to check them both out (I was thinking of buying the Blackstarr one); let's just say, I think you might want to do the same before buying a Thundarr disc (if there is such a beast). I'm pretty darn lenient when it comes to...

Multiple POVs, good bad or indifferent?

That's the right story, but there are a quite a few times when important events are seen through the eyes of other characters; Duke Isgrimnur being a chief example (there are others, but I only have the first book in front of me now).

    Non-Superhero Books

I remember Pogo; it was pretty good. I'd rank it up there with Calvin and Hobbes (high praise IMO). For my comics money (outside of my superhero titles), I collect the Dark Horse Conan series, Knights of the Dinner Table, and GI JOE (I think I still enjoy Larry Hama's series better, but they...

Multiple POVs, good bad or indifferent?

Actually Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn has several different PoVs. For my preference, it is a style that doesn't inherently hinder my enjoyment; I've seen it used well (LoRT, MS&T) and not so well (The Wheel of Time--again, all respect to the late Robert Jordan. The series started out well but my...

    Disdain for new fantasy

Ugh. That must be incredibly frustrating for the director.
