Well the next-gen consoles are at least backwards-compatible (mostly). That, plus video games don't generally have as much replay/re-use value as RPG books so it is often seen as less of a waste if you have played your old games already.

Well I may not be sold on the new edition yet, I do give WoTC the big thumbs up and a hearty thank-you; it is pretty clear the Dear Old Game is in loving and capable hands.

Well that's a pretty convenient way to dismiss any criticism of the new edition. If the tiefling as a core class is the worst part about 4e then I'll likely pick it up. But the more things I have to say "Nope, not in my game" to, the less worth my money it becomes. Time will tell, I suppose.

As far as the covers are concerned, I like the art, but I don't like the way the logos are presented. The new D&D logo itself is good, but I don't like the flat colours and square lines around them (the border-thingies, to use the technical term :p ); I'd like to see something more dynamic...

I find that interesting and possibly confusing, but sadly my NDA doesn't allow me to carry this any further to clarify things. At any rate that's a pretty good deal you've got going there.

Which cable company is that? The one I work for doesn't do that and I can only imagine it is a logistical chore to keep up with that sort of thing.
