    Deadliest Warrior on Spike (spoilers)

It is pretty dodgy at times, but it is enjoyable just to watch what some of those weapons do to the ballistics dummies. ;)

    Deadliest Warrior on Spike (spoilers)

Though I also find some of their matchups and weapon comparisons odd, I still really enjoy this show. I'm interested to see what they have coming up. As for the matchups, I think it would have been cool to see: Viking vs Spartan Ninja vs Pirate Samurai vs Knight Apache vs Gladiator was just so...

    The Hunt for Gollum

I would think that the fact they aren't profitting off of it would give them some leeway as well.

    The Wheel of Time

I listened to the first six books on audiobook while commuting and I had to quit after that. Even though I wasn't doing anything else with my time, I found it wasn't worth listening to the dreadfully repetitious story after book 5. Up to that point it was pretty decent, though. I'm not sure why...

Final Wheel of Time book to be published in three volumes

I'm hoping he can make the female characters distinctive and give them some depth. As for the "world building", I'd say Jordan handled that several times over. Hopefully Sanderson won't be adding more in the last three books.

What are you reading? April 2009

Make sure you do some tongue warm-ups before taking that one on. My son gets a kick out of watching Dad flail his way through that Chinese finger trap of a book. :p

    Rating Monsters vs Aliens

Took my son to go see it. We didn't see it in 3-D, as I found that distracting in Coraline and he hates wearing the glasses. I thought the movie was decent, but it seemed like more of an action movie than a comedy. There were a couple of good laughs, though.

    2009 Eisner Award nominees

I think the only one I've read is Thor, but it has been really good. I'm glad to see it's been nominated. I really want to give Umbrella Academy a try though, too.

What are you reading? April 2009

Inside Straight, the new(ish) Wildcards novel. I just finished Rise of a Merchant Prince by Feist and I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with the series. It's been fairly mediocre so far. I also just completed Zoe's Tale by Scalzi and really enjoyed it. I've got The Android's Dream sitting in...

    Hellooo new desktop. Nice.

I'm reading Zoe's Tale right now. Glad to see it's nominated, it's been excellent (so far :p ) .

Preview of new League of Extraordinary Gentleman

It certainly had moments of genius, but as a whole I found it a bit of a chore. I think each section individually is amazing, but taken all together it was a slog to get through. I guess I would have preferred there to be more story and less "reference material", for lack of a better term.

Preview of new League of Extraordinary Gentleman

Nice, looks cool so far. Hopefully it will make up for the somewhat disappointing Black Dossier.

    Neil Gaiman on Colbert

    Nice. Gaiman did well.

    Rate The Watchmen movie

I'm pretty much just going to parrot the other posts here. I thought the beginning was a little slow, though I really liked the opening montage and I thought the song choice there was perfect (unlike in other portions of the movie). I was perfectly fine with the ending and I thought it worked...

What is Naruto? Why should I watch it?

Well, he *is* a child, so I'm not certain why him acting like one is so unbelievable. At any rate, I don't feel he did. He put a lot of thought into what he was doing and decided that what he believed was the right thing to do. That seems like a pretty mature decision to make. Do you feel that...

Heath Ledger got an award for the joker

LOL, well at any rate, it isn't an award for faithfulness to comic books. :p

Heath Ledger got an award for the joker

He knew how he was going to approach it in "5 seconds", he didn't say he spent five seconds total creating his interpretation of the character. He also said the Joker was a more complex character than Bob Dylan. I think the fact that Heath considered him more complex than a real person (and a...

    Heroes #17:Cold Wars-Season 3-2009

Like I said, Medium is good. It's just that Heroes was huge at one point, while Medium (as far as I know) has been moderately popular all along. I was just using it as a bit of perspective for how things have changed for the series. Medium is definately a quality show, I've just never been able...
