It is pretty dodgy at times, but it is enjoyable just to watch what some of those weapons do to the ballistics dummies. ;)

I listened to the first six books on audiobook while commuting and I had to quit after that. Even though I wasn't doing anything else with my time, I found it wasn't worth listening to the dreadfully repetitious story after book 5. Up to that point it was pretty decent, though. I'm not sure why...

I'm hoping he can make the female characters distinctive and give them some depth. As for the "world building", I'd say Jordan handled that several times over. Hopefully Sanderson won't be adding more in the last three books.

Make sure you do some tongue warm-ups before taking that one on. My son gets a kick out of watching Dad flail his way through that Chinese finger trap of a book. :p

Took my son to go see it. We didn't see it in 3-D, as I found that distracting in Coraline and he hates wearing the glasses. I thought the movie was decent, but it seemed like more of an action movie than a comedy. There were a couple of good laughs, though.

I think the only one I've read is Thor, but it has been really good. I'm glad to see it's been nominated. I really want to give Umbrella Academy a try though, too.

It certainly had moments of genius, but as a whole I found it a bit of a chore. I think each section individually is amazing, but taken all together it was a slog to get through. I guess I would have preferred there to be more story and less "reference material", for lack of a better term.
