Heath Ledger got an award for the joker

Here I thought the academy awards were about acting and filmmaking, not being faithful to comic book characters. Okay. What are the principles that define the Joker, and how did he stray from them in his performance? I don't think the smiling fish guns and giant mallets would fit the motif...

    Heroes #17:Cold Wars-Season 3-2009

Ouch. It had 2 million fewer viewers than Medium. Not that Medium is a bad show -- it's pretty good, I just see it as one of those "just popular enough to quietly stay on TV" type shows. Heroes was once one of the biggest shows on TV. I guess the damage done since last season has been too much...

    Heroes #17:Cold Wars-Season 3-2009

This was a pretty solid episode. I've been quite happy with the "Fugitives" story arc so far. However, Mohinder is still a dimwit.

Heroes #14: (Volume 4: Fugitives) A Clear and Present Danger/2009

LOL, didn't think of that at the time.

New (AVATAR) Episodes Begin Again Tonight In USA

Well, he is half-Indian at least. Besides, this casting rumour (or is it truth?) is more like casting all of the main characters from Ghandi with caucasians, rather than just the lead with a half-Indian actor. Anyway, I'm not calling this Avatar casting racist, personally, I just think it is...

Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time

Don't forget skirt smoothing and tea drinking! :p

Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time

Looks nice! I'm assuming that this will be an abridged version (something this series could really benefit from, IMO). That being said, how many books are you looking at here? How much ground will each comic cover?

Heroes #14: (Volume 4: Fugitives) A Clear and Present Danger/2009

I liked the episode quite a bit. It looks promising for this story arc. I was disappointed that they are continuing with the drawing/painting as prognostication, though. I find that device causes problems in fiction in general, and it has really done so in Heroes. Not only that, but it has been...

New (AVATAR) Episodes Begin Again Tonight In USA

I can see there being leeway with Aang's ethnicity, but why do the other characters need to be cast as white? From what I understand, the indication is that all of the main characters have been cast as white. Does that not matter either? One of the aspects of the show I liked the most was the...

    Science Fantasy movies

Yeah that show was great. I wish it was out on DVD.

    Science Fantasy movies

Yeah, it's not great, but it is miles beyond Blackstarr (which would fit the criteria here pretty well, actually). Also, if we're looking at cartoons, try Bravestarr, and Visionaries.

    The Big Bang Theory

I've been finding it funny so far. I like Sheldon quite a bit, but the whole cast is good.

Showin off a bit, New web comic

I must admit I went in with low expectations and was very surprised. The artwork was fantastic and it was quite funny too. Good work!

So, has everyone pretty much given up on Smallville?

I've only watched the show off and on since it began, but I found this season has been better than the last, which was too close to teen melodrama for my taste. I like what they've done with a lot of the old Superman characters. Unfortunately my DVR didn't record the latest episode for some...

    Thundercats, HOOOOOOOO!

LOL, I think there is basically zero chance that any live action version of the Thundercats would be as cool as that trailer.

    Wolverine looks awesome!!!

I don't think he's that tall in the comics, but they made sure he was in the first movie (I believe they put lifts in Tyler Mane's boots to make him 7' instead of his usual measly 6'10 :p ). LOL I agree. It was a minor peeve of mine with the movie. At least they had James Marsden stand on a...

    Wolverine looks awesome!!!

I believe that writer was Grant Morrison. I'm not sure why he decided to do that either. EDIT: an interesting tidbit from Wikipedia on this: Yeah. On the one hand, the guy they've got now (Liev Schreiber) is a pretty decent actor, but on the other hand he's way too small. While I was...

    Wolverine looks awesome!!!

I'd say the difference in quality has far more to do with Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects) directing X1 and X2 and Brett Ratner (Rush Hour 1-3) directing X3.

Legend of the Seeker: Prophecy/Destiny (1)Nov.2008

From what I've heard, that flaw was part of the books this show is based on. They would have had to change things quite a bit to address this. I went into the series expecting it to be derivative and I wasn't disappointed there. I'd be surprised if they made many changes of that level, since...

So, do you like Lodoss War?

I'd agree, particularly when the character you focus on is as generic as Parn. Still, I enjoy Lodoss War quite a bit. I own the OVA and I'm looking to add the TV series one of these days.
