Pathfinder 2E Succubus on the offensive

Oh, of course! I was suggesting a strong negative that didn't come into play until they broke the deal. It's supposed to seem like a too-good-to-be-true deal. The downside is that taking it gives a succubus free reign to further mentally control you, and if you resist, your fortunes reverse.

Pathfinder 2E Succubus on the offensive

I was thinking that the idea of having a succubus exemplify seduction and corruption is a great start, and thinking "PCs are more motivated by raw bonuses" is a good direction, but it doesn't go far enough. Raw dice math is less narratively exciting. Also that going back on the deal should have...

    Pathfinder 2E PF2E like D&D 4e?

That is a ...very large thread. And I am scared to read it.

    Pathfinder 2E PF2E like D&D 4e?

    They weren't enough.

    Pathfinder 2E PF2E like D&D 4e?

The above was generally one of the issues I had with 4e, that it didn't have enough in the way of non-combat abilities, etc. Thanks.

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2e: Actual Play Experience

From my experience, 4e and 3.5 fights took the same amount of time, it was just the amount of time per-round was different. In 3.5, the fighter's round was just him rolling multiple attacks, resolving it, then that moved on. Then the wizard and cleric spent time shuffling their spells, reading...

    Pathfinder 2E PF2E like D&D 4e?

That's a great writeup, thanks. Unfortunately nearly everything in the "Contrasts" section turns me off. One of my biggest attraction to 4e was on the DMing side. Monster statblocks were small, they had unique rules/powers, building encounters/statblocks/etc was formulaic but fast, encounter...

Pathfinder 2E Succubus on the offensive

Edit- looks like my suggestion was just too late. :)

    Pathfinder 2E PF2E like D&D 4e?

This is getting off topic. This thread's about Pathfinder 2e info. So far the answers there have been illuminating. While I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not open to any other kind of assistance.

    Pathfinder 2E PF2E like D&D 4e?

Because the only games that exist anywhere I look are 5e D&D or PF. Any ad for in person or online game I put out for anything else gets 0-2 replies.

    Pathfinder 2E PF2E like D&D 4e?

Hi there. I was loitering on the internets and I saw an interesting post that said this: Can anyone confirm/deny this? If correct, can folks give some kind of idea how PF2e is like D&D 4e? No matter what, please no 4e bashing. It's my favorite iteration of D&D and I pretty much left RPGs...

Exploration based adventures/campaigns: how do you do it?

Thanks, Exploderwizard! That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for! One stumbling block I'm having is that this is a New continent, and the Pcs don't speak the language of the natives. So it makes getting immediate info as useful. That's part of what I liked about Pathfinder's Kingmaker...

Exploration based adventures/campaigns: how do you do it?

You just described my campaign. :) Granted, it's not "We need a place to flee to" but "Hey there's land over yonder we don't know about! There is obviously resources to be exploited! Strange things to be had. You, go explore it and set up a colony for us." I have a strong idea of the "starting...

Exploration based adventures/campaigns: how do you do it?

Except that this assumes every detail must be fleshed out with encounters. It purely depends on how dense you want the monsters to be. If there are only, say, 6 random encounters period in a 1k square miles, then there's a lot of empty space to work with. What I hear being described is a...

    Ship Map Help

Research would have been operable were the Pcs spending more than an hour of the session on a boat. Research would've been appropriate had it been say, a two session naval journey. Darjr, that last link was perfect. :D

    Encounter Advice for Lopsided Party

Fun, or frustrating as hell? :) It would certainly slow down the massive damage the party might be putting out. But it would also put them up against a wall. I'm wary about minions, as 3/5ths of the party has extra damage dice, it suddenly takes away those damage capabilities. It would, if...

Exploration based adventures/campaigns: how do you do it?

Celebrim, your response seemed to be "How I make random encounters matter", not "how I make PC choices matter in a specific area". The issue is presenting players with more informed choices than just "Right, left or straight?" with no other meaningful information. I'm hung up on the meaningful...

Exploration based adventures/campaigns: how do you do it?

Also bare in mind I don't want to start a sandbox fight. This isn't just that. I hear a lot about how 1e is so much about Exploration, about "pull the lever, see what happens". Well, I'm trying to put myself in that frame of mind, but I find that I don't know all that much about it! Regardless...

Exploration based adventures/campaigns: how do you do it?

I've been really jonsing to run a game with a heavy bent on exploration. But I am not sure exactly how to do it. There's the issue of Hexcrawling, but let's get to that later. In general, what sort of tenants do you use in an exploration-focused game? What are your goals? Where is your plot...

    Ship Map Help

I'm putting together a map today for a ship voyage, and I am woefully unknowledged about ships. :) What are some good dimensions for a ship (squares width by squares length)? The ship I have in mind is not something built for war/repelling battle at sea, but (roughly) a cargo vessel.
