    Only in America

In the UK, yes - especially in large stores like M&S, Debenhams, or motorway service stations.

    Only in America

Soup & Salad restaurants. I thought it was weird, until I ate in one and enjoyed it.

    Only in America

True, but I never saw so many obese people at Gen Con in the UK.

    Do You Name Your Car?

I think it's interesting that there are only 28 votes - not many more than the 19 votes when this poll was posted on Circvs Maximvs, which has a fraction of the membership of ENW. Maybe most of the ENW car enthusiasts are also on CM, or maybe now many ENW members read the Miscellaneous forum?

Ditto. That's just the model name.

    Sports?

Similar here. It's the only sport that I enjoy all the discussion around it, the interviews, the gossip. I'm not even that interested in other motorsports. That's possibly a chicken & egg situation, as I'd need to know all the teams and drivers to be interested.

Rumor: Windows 9 already on its way

When I built my new desktop a couple of months ago, I went with Windows 7 because I didn't want the tile/app paradigm. Like Mustrum, I don't want an application to grab all 27 inches of screen space. And with the OS on a SSD, boot times are pretty rapid anyway.

    Do You Name Your Car?

I love my car, but have never felt the urge to name it. It's usually just "the car", "my car" or "the silver one", depending on the context.

When will the WWII carnage end?

No, there is still definitely at least one in the Thames estuary that could potentially be devastating.

What Apps Are Essential for GenCon?

I map out my full schedule in Google calendar - including flight and hotel check-in info. Too much to remember, otherwise. Handy that you can enter start and end times in different time zones, without having to make the calculations yourself (or forgetting, and finding that your whole schedule...
