    New Editor-in-Chief

Eric is the Augustus Caesar of Paizo (AC held every high political office in Rome). Eric had three titles: Editor in Chief Dragon, Editor in Chief Dungeon, and Publisher. Thats a lot of work and responsiblity. James has proved more than capable, and so Eric could let up. Now he can focus on...

    MM4 Table of Contents up

Actually this whole prestatted example version stuff got started in the Draconomicon. But there it was cool. Dragons typically don't have a built stat block. So it was necessary.

    MM4 Table of Contents up

Cool! Another book I do not feel compelled to buy! Whoever is in product design over at WotC is making my hobby consolidation efforts much easier. Keep up the good work guys and soon I can treat WotC like I did TSR in the later days of 2e! Like they didn't exists, because well... they might...

Do you get bored of the wilderness treck?

I was saying that if they are running from a Giant in the wilderness, you provide them with a way out of the situation. Like a cave that the Giant can't enter. Or a deep crevasse spanned by an old rope bridge that colapses when the giant tries to cross it too and is too far for him to jump...

Do you get bored of the wilderness treck?

Wilderness does not have walls, but it does have boundries. Setting up those boundries (geographical, geological, and artificial (i.e. hexes or squares)) helps you direct movment and such. My point is the Wilderlands of High Fantasy campaign setting is the only one that I have seen that works...

Do you get bored of the wilderness treck?

Well, you forgot about the cave with the entrance that is too small for the Giant to enter, and is too much work for the giant to dig out. Actually, along rivers and in mountains, it is very hard to get lost unless you are in fog or a blizzard. And in fog you ussually run out of space if you...

Why people like to play OD&D (1974)

howandwhy99- if I could buy this game in one place I would definately play it. It sounds awesome. It makes me want to play C&C. My problem is I just don't have time to write my own stuff. However, I think what you are getting at is how any edition of D&D should be played. I just got...

    Recording game sessions?

I used to record my gaming sessions so I could put them out as story hours. As an aside, do this and you WILL learn to write great dialogue. However, I was informed by a legal professional that it is illegal to record conversations in the state of Washington without a court order. I think it...

Do you get bored of the wilderness treck?

This is a really good point that while I knew it, it just did not click and I think that is why I like the Wilderlands so much. Almost every hex seems to have somthing in it. If you roll for that hex randomly, and smthing is in it, that thing stays there. Wilderness encounters should not be...

Do you get bored of the wilderness treck?

depends. If it is relative to the story, yes. Like a long range overland chase. But by and large, I feel that it should be treated as an interlude. I think that one should track their progress, and adjust resources accordingly. I hate random fights. They really slow down the game. I...
