Escape from Hurricane Katrina + Live Blog from N.O. Hell

Well the big issue with the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA is if a hurricaine hits with 24 hours warning and the response is this bad, what happens when its a similar disaster enacted by terrorists with no warning? So what exactly does Orange Alert mean now days? It means something...

The Wilderlands boxed set. It's just amazing.

Treebore has the right of it. In fact there is a section that starts off saying you don't have to use it that talks about the backstory to the wilderlands. Basicly, its a sentient planet that manifests itself in the forms of Gods known by the people there. The planet had the ability to open...

The Wilderlands boxed set. It's just amazing.

That skimpyness gives it the versatility that allows it to be used in many different ways by DMs. There is the City State of the Invincible Overlord, that is really detailed. But the idea behind the Wilderlands is that you are given enough to work with but not so much that you you feel you...

Seven Essential Books (change your answers)

Including the Core 3 what 4 other books would you pick if you could only have 7? Lets change up the question- What seven books would you pick if you could only pick 7? This includes settings and core rules. Wilderlands Boxed Set (if I could cheat I would throw in CSIO and the Player's Guide)...

DMG2- will its rules appear in the SRD?

I like how most of the modern stuff makes it to the modern SRD. Looking forward to seeing past and cyberpunk appear there. Makes dropping laser guns and weird modern vehicles into D&D much easier! (I have always wanted my players to find a tank!) Aaron.

The Wilderlands boxed set. It's just amazing.

It will and it won't, depending on your perspective. You won't get a supplement that talks about how the Invincible Overlord has decided to lead his troops against the World Emperor. You won't get new races or prestige classes or monsters. You won't get any metagame stuff. Thats all up to...

DMG2- will its rules appear in the SRD?

I was thinking that UA is open content, and it would make sense to make some of the rules in the DMG2 at least available in the SRD. Aaron.

    Barsoom imitators

Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon come to mind. Not rip offs per se, but definitely derivative. Aaron.

The Wilderlands boxed set. It's just amazing.

To all that are waiting for the street date- One of the auctions I am running (going up somtime before next week) contains the following: CSIO Caverns of Thracia Players Guide to the Wilderlands Wilderlands Boxed Set (which I bought at GenCon and I am painfully selling) So you might not have...

To all the Boy Scouts: What can you do with rope?

There is all sorts of stuff that you can build using logs and rope. The technique is called "lashing" and it allows you to build simple structures. Need a 40ft watchtower? Get three 50ft logs apply the correct lashings and you will have a nice tripod to stand on as you survey the area.

Swarms for larger creatures? What Book?

I remember hearing about a type of swarm for larger creatures from someone at Gen Con (Possibly Xanth?). The person described that it was a way to do swarms with creatures larger than a swrm would allow. Anyone seen this rule? I believe it was in a Wizards book, but I am at a loss as to...
