How have you gotten rid of unwanted players?

Well, I don't like to complicate things. The two times I've had to toss someone, it went something like the following: "You there! Get the hell out and don't come back!"

What do Enworlders do in real life?

I routinely save people's academic and professional careers for a living. Yes, I am a University IT guy. :D

    D&D Red Box vs. AD&D 1st vs. AD&D 2nd vs. D&D 3.0 vs. D&D v.3.5

Not inferior/superior, just different. I prefer B/X D&D and 1e AD&D to 3e for various reasons, but none of that really matters. My group currently plays 1e because we have a darn good time doing so and that's the best reason of all.

Which of these books would you keep?

Sell 'em. Use the proceeds for newer, shinier books. Or beer at GenCon. That's what I do.

Do you get bored of the wilderness treck?

I don't mind, and say "a moderate amount of detail" in a non-commital way, regarding the wilderness. I enjoy the sidebar stuff, both as a DM and a player.

Buzz, the only one I'd keep from that list is Unearthed Arcana.

    OD&D/Basic D&D question

Kinda sorta. Here is what the descrition of Fighting Men says: Further: So, Dwarves and Halflings have a choice of Fighting Man or Thief, and Elves are AD&D styled multiclass Fighter/MUs, which is different than the combined elf class in the Moldvay and later editions of Basic D&D, albeit...

DriveThruRPG.com to release 3.5 edition Dungeons & Dragons titles in eBook format

That's a show stopper for me as well. I refuse to buy any DRM stuff from DTR. I have no problems with watermarking, however. Once Necromancer products went to watermarked, I bought about $150 worth of stuff, so I have put my money where my mouth is.

Best way to cope with less than 4 players?

Really depends on the party, all of your answers can work under the right conditions. In additions, being an old-school guy, I'm quite used to the idea of henchmen and hirelings a-plenty. It's a nice answer, as you let the players do most of the running of them, with die roll checks (or flat...

    Reason for Fantasy Biodiversity

In my homebrew, as a general rule, the various humanoids are xenophobic. Up until the recent past (500 years), it was a hardscrabble exisitence for all of them, populations were small, and the amount of land was enormous. In the past 500 years, the weather has been fabulous, populations have...

Do You Consider Miniatures Painting And/Or Collecting Part Of Your RPG Hobby?

When I first started playing, we didn't have any minis. So to me, no. They are a nice add-on, but they are outside of the game's core to me.

Is Gen Con worth the money?

Well, my commute is only 1.5 hours, so I don't have to pay for a plane ticket. My budget has been in the $550-$700 range, depending on how many people I split the room with, how well I want to eat, and how much stuff I buy in the dealer hall. I think it's certainly worth that amount.

1E Gamma World: Escape From The Embassy Suites - Thurs & Fri - 1:15-5:15

I might take one of those thursday slots, (if you'll have me, of course!) I currently am scheduled for an event, but I'm sure I can find someone to take the ticket off my hands. I'll get back to you in a day or so.

    Ringing the Cowbell - A D20 Question

Or maybe not. If I had a look at the back cover of an accessorie, and it told me it *required* me to have the PHB2 or Complete books, I'd probably put it down and not purchase it, as I have no desire to purchase the PHB2 or any of the Complete books, for example. Even worse, if I bout...

Do You Sometimes Purchase RPG Books Just To Read (Not For Play Purposes)?

Never with that intent, but in practice, many books have fallen into that category. In some cases, some of the books never got read. This is why I have almost completely stopped buying new gaming material.
