Full text search (when available), being able to print sections I need, and in the case of modules, being able to print out extra copies of the maps to mark up.

I'd happily purchase some more 1e AD&D stuff from them in PDF format, provided they were digitally water-marked and not laden with DRM.

They're at $76K. The more people donate, the longer they play.

They crossed $65K early this AM!!!! All of this money goes directly to the Child's Play charity, which purchases books, games, and toys for Children's Hospitals all across the world.

I had very little during the formative years, I owned a copy of the G and D series, as well as S1 and A1, but never played them until late in the "back in the day" period. I think the only classic I actually played through back in the 80s, was all of G1, G2, and part of G3, with a sidegroup...

Do you have a term you think would be a better fit? How about "shafted"? Like "I got shafted by DL1, and it hurt like futhermucker."

That issue post-dates the preface I quoted above, and illustrates the evolution in thought about Basic D&D, IMO, rather than refuting the thoughts and intent of the Holmes Basic rules.

Well, that's not how it started. The original basic manual (Holmes Basic) is *clearly* a lead-in to AD&D, as it references AD&D several times. From the Preface: Now later, the Moldvay/Cook B/X line, BECMI, RC, etc.. and associated accessory products are stand-alone.

We're cool, Russ, I'm not blaming you (personally or collectively). ENW Meta just seemed like the obvious place to ask. I have no idea if somebody added me, but I would think I would have gotten an e-mail from someone. I'm not really that active here anymore, either. Nobody likes a wannabee.
