Gaming Aids for the DM that has everything

    - Tact-tiles - Critical hit cards - Critical fumble cards - Deck of illusions - Deck of many things - Light gray modeling clay (I use this for *all* sorts of things: terrain, impromptu miniatures, elevating flying miniatures, sticking miniatures to each other, status markers, etc.) Things I've...

    Boosting Spell DCs

Off the top of my head (from the core rules only): - Spell Focus - Greater Spell Focus - Red wizard prestige class (not suitable for you though) - Limited wish (-7 penalty on one saving throw)... I actually use this a lot at higher levels. - Mind Fog - Cause your opponent to be Shaken...

    Boosting Spell DCs

    CL does not affect DC.

Can I use Empower Spell on _dispel magic_?

Er... according to the rules, a dispel magic check is an opposed roll (even if the opposition is a static number). The fact that examples like this are not provided in the SRD only gives one excuse for not knowing it initially (assuming one uses the SRD as your primary reference souce, instead...

Can I use Empower Spell on _dispel magic_?

To be fair: it's in the PHB, but not the the SRD.

Can I have my golem accept boosty spells?

I seem to recall that actually being done in module A3 - Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords. Mind you, the plate armor was actually bolted on and made the flesh golem look a bit like an iron golem... the golem even threatened to "breath poison" on the party (in an effort to seem more like...

    Paladin of...

Wee Jas. Despite being a kinda evil god of death, she is technically LN, and thus able to have LG paladins. Death When I played one, he started as a pleasant, gullible farmboy who was very comfortable with death. Since religions often preach of an enjoyable afterlife, it was a short leap to...

Can I have my golem accept boosty spells?

Sure, but who wants an S&M golem? ;) A mithral chain shirt coupled with a masterwork light shield might look nice though.

Can I have my golem accept boosty spells?

Yeah... bing mindless, I believe golems have no capacity to learn, so they would likely have to be told each time to use them. By the time you tell a golem to click his heels together (and he does it), any benefit from speed is likely already wasted. Heh. It seems rare that a golem could benefit...

Can I have my golem accept boosty spells?

From the 3.5 FAQ (if desired): "Note that a golem cannot voluntarily lower its magic immunity so that it can receive a harmless spell, but a golem’s magic immunity does not extend to magic the golem uses on itself (just as spell resistance doesn’t apply to such effects). A golem can make use of...

Losing Class Features with Alignment Change

Supplements can (and do) present new rules or clarify old ones. Er... that is subject to some interpretation (and appears to be more an oddity of the way Dragon Disciple was written than an actual intended rule). Hm. Good points.

    Impale? Moving floors

Agreed. This does not appear to be a game rules issue so much as a social one. Still, (since the DM presented it as a rules issue) the statement "there is nothing in the book regarding impaling" is technically incorrect.

Conjuration (Creation) spells subject to DR?

From the 3.5 FAQ (if desired): "How do spells like Evard’s black tentacles and ice storm affect a creature with damage reduction overcome by magic and bludgeoning? Do the tentacles and hailstones deal magical bludgeoning damage? Any damage dealt by a spell or other magical effect is unaffected...

    Medium character, huge bastard sword

I was actually alluding to monkey grip there.

Dominate Person... what can it do?

Yup Yup Your imagination (and their own physical limitations of course).

    Medium character, huge bastard sword

Well, I would support a DM's right to make his own decision on it in regard to the bastard sword, but I agree: it does seems a bit inconsistent and unintuitive to me (as this sort of thing was certainly allowed in 3.0). As always, thank you for giving me a new perspective. But it seems intuitive...

    Medium character, huge bastard sword

Pedantic note: any medium PC could wield a huge, light weapon without any special ability. Also on that note (for the OP): any medium PC could wield a huge sunblade (which is bastard sword sized) without any special ability (since it is light).
