30 levels what will it mean to spellcasters?

I heard you get much less spell slots than in 3.x, but can refresh them more often. Perhaps, you will have to stitch slots for higher level spells. With only a few slots available, high level spells would still be unavailable at low levels.

    PHB, MM, DMG covers

They really look like AD&D 2E. The white sticks too much out, IMHO. I'm with you here. His faces look like those of mice. But he seems to be popular *shrug*.

Did anyone here come into gaming *through* computers?

I blame M&M 6 and Baldur's Gate for my interest in D&D :). So the answer is yes!

Is the age of discounts over?

I'd like to add an existing example for price-fixing in a usually competitive market environment. In Austria and Germany, book prices are set by the publishers. No retailer, online or brick & mortar, is allowed to sell books below this price. These regulations got in front of the highest...

That was a touching scene. I wonder where she will go.

    What's up with RPGnet?

    Did you flood "Ads/Open Promo"?

    Oops! I think I killed rpg.net

That's right. I don't need rpg.net to become "EN World II" because of their new D&D subforum. I always liked rpg.net for the different mix of ideas you get there. Despite people like walkerpc, or what his name was :D.

    What's up with RPGnet?

It's still down. Well, they wanted to be back "some time today". If possible.

    What's up with RPGnet?

No, I was typing the polite equivalent to "It's on page 182, you dumbass!". Which took a few more words :).

Star Wars Saga, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Neither can I. Although the long list of errata that I saw on the WotC board is a bit sad. Of course, there will always be errata. That's what you get from buying first printings ;).

    What's up with RPGnet?

I had just typed up a lengthy answer, and when I pressed "Submit", rpg.net was gone.

Star Wars Saga RPG: Square Book? WTF

It was on the "Notable New Releases" shelf at Borders! Yay! I'm fine with the format. The book actually fits in the space between my keyboard and the screen of my desktop computer at home. And stays open at the page I have it open. Not too bad. As for aesthetics: My existing shelves are full...

The problem with elves take 2: A severe condemnation [merged]

Which fits quite well what I actually said ;).

The problem with elves take 2: A severe condemnation [merged]

I guess that's a certain misconception of medieval lives, at least as far as cities are concerned. Historians have studied contracts and prices from the 14th century, and they came to the conclusion that the percentage of income a journeyman had to spend on food was pretty much the same then as...

Does D&D even have a component of "midieval" anymore?

That's my take on this topic as well. D&D is the "wild west" of the late 19th, early 20th century, as depicted in classic Western movies. With swords and armor. And the cow barons are called "lord". On top of this, we get late 20th century societal conventions.

I take it the reviewer didn't like the book. :D

RPGNet - What's Up With the d20 Ghetto?

I always thought that it was big mistake to create that subforum. It's probably a simple coincidence, but the d20 games were on their way to insignificance when they were moved out of the view of the D&D crowd here in General. I don't like the new forum on rpg.net, either. Now, you have...

    Spelljammer...just wow

I don't really know the old Spelljammer, but I liked it when it came back to D&D 3.x with the Lords of Madness web enhancement here. That nautiloid spelljammer ship looked way cool :).
