Enough with the PDF table of contents already!

That's the point. I don't mind pdf's. They have been web standard now for many years. It's a professional way to handle previews. You can actually print the TOC out and put in in a folder with other TOC's. That's good for organizing your "library". But to zip the pdf file is somewhat ludicrous...

Chris Pramas (Green Ronin) on the future of D&D

That's what half of the population does here. From the beginning to the end of the order ;).

Do you consider PDF cost by Page Count?

I don't judge pdf's by price per page count, but it's one of the criteria I consider. Note that even the "page count" is deceptive, as some pdf's have such a loose layout that they contain a very low word count per page. But sure, I compare pdf price points to print price points when I make...

    Roleplaying outside the U.S.

True, but I don't think it's one of the top three.

    Why is D&D for sale?

I also thought that this exact topic has come up before. With exactly the same sum of money mentioned.

    Roleplaying outside the U.S.

That's why I said "larger countries". The smaller European countries are used to English from TV. It's not economical to dub everything for a few million people, so they get to see film originals with subtitles. In the larger European countries, everything is dubbed. Adaptation to the native...

    Roleplaying outside the U.S.

That's probably the reason. RPGs had to be translated to native languages in order to be successful in the larger European countries. In case of Germany, the creators of "The Dark Eye" first asked for a D&D license. When they heard the price, they decided to do their own game. They paired up...

    Roleplaying outside the U.S.

For Germany: 1. No, D&D is not the primary RPG. 2. D&D was never the primary RPG, except perhaps in the very beginning, but that was before RPGs were really known as a hobby by more than a handful of people. 3. The Dark Eye (Das Schwarze Auge) has been sitting on the number 1 spot nearly...

Best d20 or OGL 3rd party games?

I'd pick Arcana Unearthed/Evolved. It's D&D with a few twists. Next would be Conan. It's truly inspiring. I'm also partial to Slaine. Even if it's a diamond in the rough ;).

    How is Palladium doing?

They are waiting for the big Robotech® miracle. The will re-release the game and hope to profit from the film release. Then the flowers will be blooming, choirs of angels will sing from the clouds, and gold pieces will rain from the sky. Or somesuch.

Besides fantasy, what genre would you like to roleplay in?

Science Fantasy (à la Star Wars) Horror (à la Call of Cthulhu) Edit: Now that I think of it, I've always liked sci fi much more than fantasy. Unfortunately, sci fi is splintered into many tiny subgenres, and the comparably small number of people playing sci fi are scattered across lots of more...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Just remember that those two parties have quite different interests. One has a lot to lose, the other one a lot to win. Guess who is who. And WotC has months to wait for people to calm down.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I guess Erik Mona has just learned that there is such a thing as being too successful.

Will the Wizards Digital Initiative still be around in 5 years?

That's exactly how I see it. I think eTool's failure was a lack of enthusiasm behind the project. If you don't show any interest in something you allegedly want to achieve, you will fail. This time, the signs look different.

Was Dragon (or any RPG mag) your first exposure to gaming?

Even if I can't really click on any of the options in the poll, I can say that none of the magazines played a roll in getting me interested in D&D. My entrance ticket were CRPG's ;).

    Why I WON'T boycott WotC

I'm with Jürgen here. The only WotC offering I wanted to buy for sure this year was the new version of the Star Wars game. Calling for a boycott of WotC on this basis would be hilarious. I will most definitely not subscribe to anything WotC has to offer, but that's just a matter of interest on...

The 3 reasons why I am done with WotC

Heh, that has the ring of truth :). Although I was saddened by the announcement of Dungeon's and Dragon's end, that's more of a nostalgic sentiment than anything else in my case. I didn't post much, as I don't really buy that much D&D stuff anymore, anyway. I wanted to let my subscriptions to...

    AEG Toolbox

The Toolbox is pretty far up in my "most useful D&D/d20 books" list. It's on the small shelf with my 20 most used books :).

    Commercial Settings with little popularity

What about Murchad's Legacy? Not that I could claim to know it, because I'm not one of the three guys who bought a copy, but it definitely meets the "obscure" criterion :).
