    City Supplement - Your favorite?

Hey, thanks for the heads up! I completely missed that. I'll have to start the email avalanche immediately :D.

How fast should magical power return to a caster?

Ditto. Many games look like that, anyway. Encounter, followed by rest, encounter, followed by rest...

    City Supplement - Your favorite?

Yggsburgh is for C&C. If you need d20 NPC stats, you will have to do them yourself. It's not a bad city, either. You just need to put some more work in. You can look whether Bard's Gate contains enough stuff for you by looking at the building list here.

    City Supplement - Your favorite?

The CSIO NPCs are generally a bit higher level than in many other city supplements. The whole city has a somewhat pulpy feel. The government is evil, justice doesn't really derserve that label and slavery is commonplace. I like the city very much, but it might not quite be what you want. Bard's...

[Green Ronin] Bleeding Edge Adventure #2: Beyond the Towers

I am not worried. I'm pointing something out. If a product blurb misses one of the most important pieces of information for an adventure, it probably hurts sales.

    Seven Spires Maps

Very cool maps. How were those done?

    Urbis Cartography

Is there an option to make the ridges of the mountains run out more smoothly? I think that the current solution shows too much contrast, making the mountains look spindly.

[Green Ronin] Bleeding Edge Adventure #2: Beyond the Towers

I've seen that, and it was already stated in post #3. I was talking about the RPGnow blurb.

Man, I freakin' love these new Dungeon Tiles

Are these the same kind of tiles they used in the basic game?

[Green Ronin] Bleeding Edge Adventure #2: Beyond the Towers

The RPGNow blurb seems to lack the level information, or am I just blind, too?

Wilderlands of High Fantasy - Wots...Uh The Deal?

To be fair, it was the Player's Guide that got me interested in the setting. Upon reading that one, I immediately wanted to run a campaign in the Wilderlands, which reminded me somewhat of a Conanesque kind of game. Although the info might be somewhat sparse, the Player's Guide is enough to run...

    What's your screen name from?

Well, that's Turjan of Miir, from the first fantasy collection I ever read (The Dying Earth, 1950). He uses swords and magic and breeds creatures in vats. What's not to love ;). I've been using that handle for ages. Admittedly, it's not original, but I'll keep it anyway.

    Dwarves don't sell novels

That looks correct. I'm always reminded of UO roleplaying servers, where you usually have to apply seperately for being allowed to play a different race than humans in order to make sure that you don't play them as humans. Except it's humans and dwarves; as the latter are basically grumpy and...

    Dwarves don't sell novels

Yes, Midichlorians are silly. But the SW universe is silly, anyway. I'm not sure why nobody gets upset about his planets, which defy the basics of geometry. Anyway, as D&D treats magic as a science, it's not that different from midchlorians in the sense you brought up. But there's nothing to...

    Dwarves don't sell novels

The important thing Star Wars shows us stands though: Technical gimmicks don't hurt fantasy a single bit! I don't think that you can doubt that Star Wars is a very successful brand, even more so than D&D. And the point that the Star Wars RPG is not as popular as the D&D RPG does not prove...

    Dwarves don't sell novels

Just a remark: Star Wars does not belong into the sci-fi genre, but is generally considered to be fantasy. The original film is the classical fantasy story par excellence.

And how do you see one other staple of D&D, the mind flayer?

What are the 10 most important d20/OGL books?

I made a thread about the most popular 3rd party d20/OGL (if compatible with D&D) books some months ago, and this one vanished into Nirvana. It's not the same as "most important", but I may list the final outcome here, anyway ;). Places 5 and 6 and the places 7 to 10 shared the same number of...

    Dwarves don't sell novels

I'm not a fan of psionics in my game, as I see it as redundant, even more so as it became more similar to magic than ever. I'm more in the "either magic or psionics" camp. Nevertheless, I don't really see those points you brought up, except the first one (which is principally legitimate, but...

    Dwarves don't sell novels

This is definitely the usual way how high tech is used in fantasy. The flying cars in the Dying Earth were also a technology that was far beyond the capabilities of their users. In principle, there's nothing wrong with describing a metal wand of fireballs with 50 charges and use a laser pistol...
