    Gygax doesn't matter?

Heh. Someone linked to this on rpg.net, and the thread was closed by post 5 as troll. The moderators's comment: "Also, that guy took an amazing number of words to say that he's too cool to care about current events." I tend to agree with this. It's a sign of insecurity.

    July 27. Gary Gygax Day?

I agree fulheartedly. You cannot invent such a connotation as fate itself has presented by this unlikely coincidence. Anything else looks artificial in comparison.

    D&D 4E 4E Rogue for non-4E enthusiast

The German equivalent to 1 foot is - surprise - 1 Fuss, which is about the same length, depending on region. 1 Elle equals 2 Fuss, which means that 10 Ellen would be about 6 meters. Except in old D&D, obviously ;). As to why we get fixed abilities with the rogue? So they have more classes to...

D&D 3.x The Real Question for 3e Grognards

OK, I'll keep it a secret then ;):).

D&D 3.x The Real Question for 3e Grognards

Oh, I completely missed that: When did he do that gender change operation? That's a neat way of tackling the "not enough female gamers" problem :D.

D&D 3.x The Real Question for 3e Grognards

Their d20 forum has pretty decent traffic, too. Some of the 4e threads are quite busy.

D&D 3.x The Real Question for 3e Grognards

And you're not worried about that, seeing as you will switch to 4e?

D&D 3.x The Real Question for 3e Grognards

Morrus said that 3.x will always have its place on this site. I guess, the "4e" and the "General" forums will switch places or something like that.

    WotC_Shoe on leaderless parties

Well, you can always ask Mr. Orc for a short break. Like we always do for 5 o'clock tea.

Recap: Ryan Dancey's Predictions for 2007

That's true, but they ceased production on nearly all their other AH games, like RoboRally, Nexus Ops, or Vegas Showdown. There's hardly anything left.

    Why won't you switch?

What is this here, Agriculture Weekly? Anyway... I"m really curious whether actual combat will be faster than in 3.x or bogged down by all the new things to keep track of.

Breaking News: Kuo-Toa Not Froggy Anymore

I'm not sure why looking like a scaly human with a fish head is supposed to be an improvement for kuo-toa. This is not Star Trek where you have to put a mask on a human actor. I don't see this as very imaginative. On the other hand, if kuo-toa are some humans or other humanoids that had been...

    Bad RPG Collecting

You should relax a bit by reading some Hybrid RPG :).

    Bad RPG Collecting

I must have one somewhere, too. It's really bad in more than one way. It's not only the topic, but these disease tables that require a d1000 are a wonderful example of the true obsession that penetrates that whole game.

    Bad RPG Collecting

It cannot be unplayable. Wasn't it Treebore who once had a Synnibarr campaign go to level 36? I think he liked the game. Anyway, I wait for the first person to nominate D&D 3.5 for this thread ;).

    Why won't you switch?

Why won't I switch? Well, it's not a definite decision by far. I haven't seen the final product after all ;). And, as many have mentioned, I don't really see the need to do so at the moment. I have too much 3.x stuff I still want to use before I abandon a system I'm used to. My main reasons: I...

    Terraforming a "barrens"

I would let it happen just because I like the idea. It doesn't break the game. I see it more as a story element, where mechanics are mostly unimportant. They could also use "Transmute Rock to Mud".

Any D&D to DSA conversions out there?

It's not that simple. Though we have the OGL for D&D, the German translations are copyrighted. DSA is copyrighted, too. I'm not too sure that you will find the stuff easily, even though it probably exists. A short search didn't yield anything.

Any D&D to DSA conversions out there?

Well, they have all those devils. But the similarities to D&D are no surprise. The first publishers of DSA originally wanted to have a D&D license in 1983, but they thought it was too expensive. So they published 1984 a homebrew system of someone who basically rebuilt AD&D with some twists. As...

The Best & Worst of 3rd Edition: FINAL FIVE: PHB II, UA, Eberon, Ptolus, Pathfinder

Someone said in the last poll that non-members can vote on these polls. They cannot post, though. Edit: Yes, it's true. I logged out, and you can just vote again. It's ridiculous.
