Thanks - the lich has a lair, so the party will be engaged by some minions in the beginning, anyhow. Once the minions are engaged, the lich will be able to judge the party's strengths and buff up, when needed. Good idea on foiling the True Seeing with the skill trick. Thanks!

Any other suggestions on what the lich could do while time is stopped? If it puts up 2 force cages, it would still take the PCs time to bring the forcecages down. I can't target the PCs with damage spells or ability drain spells, or charm/domination spells.

The problem with illusions is that one PC with True Seeing can foil even a level 9 illusion, and the players have been attacked by enough invisible and/or illusory foes that True Seeing is standard procedure for at least one PC.

And, good idea on celerity as well. Being undead, would the lich be immune to the dazing after-effect as well? Or, with Time Stop, it would then take the first round of time stopping to recover from the Daze?

I believe there is an epic feat that would allow them to cast a 2nd quickened spell each round. Added on - the feat is "Multispell" and the prerequisite is the ability to cast level 9 arcane or divine spells and the Quicken Spell metamagic feat.

Are you sure on the book Lords of Madness? I opened it up to pages 25, 26 and 27 and it speaks of aboleth society? In looking through the ToC, I did not see any sections on undead & fell feats? Do I have the wrong version? thx

Thanks - I was planning on a few levels of Archmage at least. I also like the one that gives the archmage the ability to deliver a touch spell up to 30 feet away.

Well, a quickened Dimension Door needs a level 8 slot, while a quickened Teleport would need a level 9. So, spells might not be the way to go, unless (depending on how far you want to go) a quickened Dimension Hop could work to get a short distance away, as that is a level 2 spell and would...

well, if the lich takes "archmage" as a PrC, it can also do counterspelling mastery. Quicken a few spells as counters when the PCs try their own dispel magics and turn the dispel back on its caster.

I just wanted to use the lich to maximum effect as a baddie. Not sure if I should go blast the PCs with level 8/9 spells, wear them out with evil minions and go for "save or die" spells at the end, etc.

Thanks - was thinking of the symbol spell in case they tried to teleport or DD into the Forcecage "room." The lich obviously would have means of escape via its own DD or teleport.

Level 20 arcane caster, with a focus on necromancy. Possibly a few levels of PrC in there as well (any suggestions? Archmage?) Formerly human, maximized intelligence. Some good high level spells to use on them. Should it go specialized caster or not? If it specializes on necromancy...
