    What are the 'Killer Feats'?

I think people initially judged Toughness based on its 3.0 counterpart. In 4E, think of it as granting you hp as if you were one level higher (and this is only not true for Defenders... by 1 hit point). Or you can think of it as giving you +5 Constitution that doesn't apply to the amount of...

Racial stat bonuses and system balance

Honestly, it'll affect the game only a little (perhaps the Humans will be losing out) although it does have an effect on flavor/fluff. For example, Elves make excellent Rangers because their stat bonuses applies to two of the Ranger's prized attributes. And some people will start complaining if...

    Sold through already

In a GTS Seminar Podcast (see http://feeds.feedburner.com/gamaRetail, probably Unconventional Wisdom), Dancey said that the initial 3.0 print run was in the 200,000~300,000K numbers (can't remember the specifics now). Of course I'd like to add that these initial numbers are most likely the...

Two-handed weapons -- nerfed, or am I missing something?

The damage die gets multiplied if you get to use the higher-level powers such as the one the Dwarven Fighter has in Keep of the Shadowfell: 3[W] for the Maul or 6d6 (in the case of the Greatsword, 3d10 vs 3d8+1 of the Longsword).

PVP/Penny Arcade 4E Podcast from WotC

If by similar you mean recordings of actual play sessions, I compile a weekly list of the various podcasts and post them in threads like this: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=228310 (See the Actual Play section). If you mean similar as in D&D 4E, none yet aside from what's posted by WotC.

    Core Handbook Errors Discussion

Sounds right. Based on the playtest report, I think this was originally roll 2d20s on the attack roll, pick highest then nerfed to Dex +4 vs AC and now the final version is Dex +2 vs AC. You're trading damage for accuracy. And +2 is a big bonus.

A few comments from a playtester

You're not just burning up a feat. You're trading one special power for another. Remember that uber-cool technique I was going to learn from my master? Well, I studied a different technique instead from this Wizard... And if it bothers you so much, your character can always learn a lower-level...

    Minions and fixed damage

It's cinematic logic. PCs aren't the same as minions/mooks/stormtroopers. The former are heroes, the latter aren't. This kind of mechanic can be seen in other RPGs. In Savage Worlds, it's the Wild Die mechanic (not everyone has them) and/or fate chips. In L5R, it could be the lack of void...

Excerpt: You and Your Magic Items

Inserting "If the DM allows it" every other page or so can be redundant. And no to ambiguous rules of playing the game. D&D isn't trying to be a generic roleplaying system. There is a specific, common ground to play it (i.e. kill monsters, get loot) and gaming groups transition from there (i.e...

    Excerpt: skill challenges

If as a player, I saw the GM's notes, that may be very well true. But as a player, what's probably going through my mind is what skills can I use to help in this encounter? Sure, the group might think "hey, let's use Diplomacy" at the outset and keep at it. But if the DC is too high, they...

    Excerpt: skill challenges

It's not in the stated rules but I think the suggested applicable skills are a suggestion (i.e. you're playing from a module) rather than a hard-and-fast definitive skill set. As for your Acrobat/History question, I'd probably call it that you can make a History roll and success opens up the...
