Pathfinder 1E Business models from TSR, WotC and Paizo

Just musing late on a Bank Holiday Monday . . . I seem to remember that for OD&D and 1E D&D that there were a few rulebooks and a plethora of different adventures, i.e. TSR was predominantly making money off the adventures rather than rulebooks. No idea what happened with 2E as I left playing...

Countdown-timer at Green Ronin...? What's it all about?

"You'll find great adventure beyond the gate." Well the King Beyond the Gate was a Drenai novel by David Gemmell but I doubt if that will be it - just wishful thinking on my part :)

    Judging character performance

Well if the class-based system proposed by Gary in AD&D is designed to make roleplaying easier by establishing a class for each classic archetype, then his description in the quote is a typical portrayal of that archetype. I'm not sure my players have I've ever had typical characters but I can...

    Anyone still playing Dawning Star?

Thanks for the reply! Probably just my ignorance of the setting based on what I've read so far! I guess I was just keying into the comparisons with the monolith(s) in 2001 and the jumpgate left behind by Tentaari in our solar system. As for Voyager, I admit on reflection that's tenative at...

    Anyone still playing Dawning Star?

I'm quite new to Dawning Star but would like to sense check my first impressions with more experienced people based on looking through Dawning Star: Operation Quick Launch. For me it seems like a combination of Firefly/Serenity, 2001, and Star Trek Voyager (in that order). Just wondered if...

    Star Trek RPG

I don't think Marshall means Star Fleet Battles - I think he means Star Trek III Combat Simulator Game which was the FASA "bolt on" to the RPG. It was a fun game in itself but didn't really mesh well with the RPG IMHO.
