New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

Obviously TSR wanted to make money (as WotC/Hasbro now). They are not here for our pleasure, but to make money. That's pretty clear to everyone. On the other hand, some books were clearly just an intent to squeeze money from the D&D fans (and a lot of people at that time was not really happy...

New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

OK, you're talking about TSR but it's now clear to me that you don't know what you're talking about. At that time there was some commercial operations (some manuals containing options to expand the game, for example) and some pubblications that were really experimental for the period (Dark Sun...

I am glad you have the time for develop you own setting and homebrew material. Unfortunately I don't have so much time, so I need the official settings. I can use FR o Eberron (after the play-test that will last for some time), but I prefer other settings and those settings were promised a long...

New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

OK, so why don't make another survey to ask to the D&D fan-base its opinion about innovative settings or settings from another game and so on. They never did it and in my opinion this was a mistake. Regarding the old settings in 2019: OK, and also for this year let's wait for the next year. D&D...

New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

I don't know if this is true for you, but I was already a D&D player back to the T$R times. I remember them and their commercial operations. And also the terrific number of manuals of the 3.x and 4E. But in those settings there was also something very brilliant (Dark Sun and Planescape for example).

Thank you for the explanation, I learned something about the conceiving of the D&D/Magic cross-over. That said, it is impossible that the D&D team was not aware of the ideas of James Wyatt and probably they spent a lot of time on the Ravnica project instead of thinking about the realization of...

New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

In a survey two/three years ago a lot of people asked for the old setting updated for the 5E. Wizards can show respect giving to us the old settings first and then new settings, not the opposite. In answer to your second question: yes, I think that WotC (or maybe Hasbro) executives direct the...

I totally agree with you. Also, I would like to see the old D&D players and fans that asked for the old settings to be treated with more respect. I am not against new settings, I am against top-down commercial operation (like D&D 4E).

New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

Sorry for that, it is difficult to be clear in another language and I apologize for my terrible english. My point is: I find disturbing that after a lot of people asked for the old settings updated for the new edition, the designers come out with Ravinca that is a setting from another game. It...

New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

It is relevant because in a survey dated two years ago (if I remember well the date) a lot of people asked for the old D&D settings updated for the present edition. A lot of time passed because thay have to come out first with the first major rule expansion (Xanathar's book). OK, now it is time...

New D&D Monsters and More in Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica

This is not something original, it is a setting from another game masquerading as a "new D&D setting". It is just a commercial operation to attract players from another game. It should be fine after release of other D&D settings. It is not fine as the first 5E setting (if we do not consider FR)...

Planescape has a larger number of factions. The designers should stop waste their time with another game's settings (this one and the varius planeshits) and come out with some D&D setting (not in the play-test stage...).
