Sagiro's Story Hour: Now That It's Over

And I want to thank you for that! :) I downloaded the pdfs into my dropbox account maybe two weeks ago or so and started my fourth read through in anticipation of the end of the saga. Today I finished Part One (the first PDF), and I'm going to dig into Part Two in a bit. Thanks Mr AC (may I...

Now that 5E is imminent, what are your D&D plans?

I didn't vote since I didn't think any of the responses were quite right. I'm not actively involved in a game right now, so converting isn't really an issue. I plan to buy the books as they become available to check 'em out, since I spend most of my entertainment allotment on gaming-related...

Rumor? D&D movie issues resolved and a TV series in the works?

Hmm, yeah. Good point. I suppose for me it's about the feel of it. While it wasn't great, I thought the second D&D movie (Wrath of the Dragon God) was better than the first, and by far did a better job of conveying a D&D feel. That's not to say that a series should necessarily emulate the...

Rumor? D&D movie issues resolved and a TV series in the works?

I have no idea how the IP rules would work, but if someone were to limit themselves to using OGL material, would they need a license to produce media content that would be clearly based on D&D, without using the brand?

How often have you gamed in the past year?

Unfortunately I've not found a group to game with in a few years. I think 2011 was the last time I had a group. Seems like it's much more difficult to find a group with an open seat these days, at least in central PA. :/

Nondetection (or similar) on a Galleon.

Back in Dungeon magazine #100 was an adventure called "Beast of Burden," in which a druid used Pass Without Trace on a colossal creature that carried a marauding army on its back. If a 1st-level spell could mask a colossal creature, I don't see why a 3rd-level spell couldn't mask a colossal...

    Epic Feat Intensify Spell question

While I appreciate that interpretation - and have held it myself in the past - anything that changes based on level is variable. Mind Blank, for example, has a non-variable duration of 24 hours. This whole train of thought kicked off for me because of the "affects twice the maximum number of...

    Epic Feat Intensify Spell question

I've generally only considered the effect of damage dice or summoning limits when using the intensify spell feat, but rereading it I'm wondering if it should increase duration too. So that, based on the text of the feat, in addition to causing twice the max damage, healing twice the max hit...

    intensify spell,

When I'm designing epic casters I use multiple instances of Improved Metamagic to reduce the cost of Intensify Spell (and all other metamagic feats that cost more than one slot level). I'm not an optimizer so I'm not sure how divine metamagic and other exploits might be leveraged for this case.

Pathfinder 1E Judges Guild City State of the Invincible overlord KS last 8 hours!

I was first exposed to RPGs via the Judges Guild Dark Tower module. Such fun as a kid, the material still holds a place in my heart. I've pledged, and I hope to see the KS reach the $80k mark at least and unlock all the maps. But it would be awesome to see enough support to allow JG to start...

D&D 3.x Looking to buy 3/3.5 hand books

To clarify, are you only interested in the physical books, or would PDFs suffice? If the latter, www.dndclassics.com has plenty of options. If you really want the physical books, Ebay is a good place to search. Amazon has some options as well.

    D&D 5E (2014) Are you ready for a new edition of D&D?

Reading some of the replies, I'm wondering how much the frequency at which one plays has to do with readiness for change. I'm with those who feel they still have 3E ideas they want to explore. I've never gotten to play an epic game, but I played a warlock to 17th level and was salivating at...

    What are your core races?

I was just kind of wondering the same thing when I saw the Kender thread. My core list would be: Human Elf Dwarf Half-elf Half-orc Halfling That list is only if I were going to bother defining a core list of races. I'm more a fan of the Savage Species outlook - if a player wants to play a...

    Looking for a metamagic feat

Thanks Dandu, that's pretty much what I remember, though I'd thought it was for multiple spots. Maybe it was Mastery of Shaping of which I'm thinking. Sad to say, I can't remember the specific context so I'm not sure whether it was in fact a feat. But between the references I've got what I...

    Looking for a metamagic feat

I'm trying to find a metamagic feat, but I don't know the name and I'm not sure it exists. The effect of the feat is that you can create "safe zones" when you cast an area spell so that, for example, your fireball will scorch your enemies but leave your allies in their midst unharmed. Does...

    Steel Dragon's "Tales of Orea"

Thanks for more great updates SD! I can't seem to get enough story hour-y goodness. Since your last story post in October, I've re-read Lazybones' Doomed Bastards and Travels Through the Wild West, and picked my way through a few others in bits and pieces. Not time to re-read Sagiro again...

    Steel Dragon's "Tales of Orea"

Still haven't detected my scrying sensor, eh? Good, good, nice to know some things work as expected! ;) It's really just lucky chance that that's happened but it sure is funny. And I would LIKE to have a scrying sensor... Oh well, I'll just keep an eye on the forums per my usual practice...
