    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"You may also take one of my coins for the holy water fund." (OOC: I believe it is mid morning, but others have thought it night. An official ruling would be good.)

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Undead? A fortunate thing the good priest is here to lend assistance. I wonder though... It is not natural for skeletons to rise of their own free will. Perhaps there is some force or person who wants control of the mine for reasons unknown." Looking to his new companions and old classmates...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Zhantain raises his mug to Dolun Thrax, "Ho! Sir Thrax, I think we would be most delighted to reclaim this lost mine of yours." Smiling at Amirad, he agrees, "This is indeed just what we needed." He also crosses the room and inquires of the dwarf, "Where is this particular mine located? And do...

    Evolution of the Fighter

I was a bit off. It had very little about 4e, that was a suprise, and it wasn't as hard on the previous versions as I expected, but it wasn't overly kind to them either.

    Evolution of the Fighter

My prediction, the article tells us how utterly craptastic all previous edition fighters were and how much awesomesauce the 4e fighter brings to the table. I think I'd much prefer an unbiased source publishing this article. Anyway, off to read it.

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"Woods, mines all the same to me." Turning to their host, "Charles, any rumors of adventure for eager younglings with a taste for excitment?" He asks this with a subtle glance at the obviously 'young for his kind' elf who has joined them. "I think we'd all like to be rich be this time next...

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

"That's kind of you, Amirad. My thanks. We are most appreciative." He takes the offered mug and drinks deeply. After a moment, he addresses the the warrior again, "I am indeed ready to return to the wilds and practice my craft. Adventure awaits, as my Da' is fond of saying. Did you have...

    Hackmaster

So... 4E is the new Nazi's/Hitler? I'd say you just slammed the game much harder than Amp did. ;)

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Zhantain strides into the Inn a few minutes later, chuckling at Little Mo's enthusiasm. He was a more serious sort. An after effect of the eruption of his mental powers a few years ago. He remember with crystal clarity the cries of surprise and pain caused by that first Psionic Blast, thankfully...

[Recruiting Fresh Again!] The Old School: 1e AD&D

Bah. I was confusing this guy with the Half-orc I just rolled up in a C&C pbp. Thanks.

    The mythical ideal of 1E?

Cover to cover repeatedly, in fact. I suppose that made it easy for me and my group. I could tell you what book and just about what page to look on for almost any rule. Not so much the UA, but the PHB, DMG, and both Survival Guides I had down pretty well. I wish I had that kind of reading time...

    The mythical ideal of 1E?

See, for me this was the biggest failure of 2e. I loved the way Gygax wrote the 1e books. It seems to me that each sucsessive edition has been written to a lower level of reading comprehension. 1e assumed you were capable of reading at college levels and as the kid who was always years beyond...

This si awesome. I think I'll see if I can figure out this Invisible castle thing and give it a shot. I'll have to build using OSRIC for now, I'll double check things with my 1ed PHB tonight.

    Oots 606

I disagree. I love OotS, but if something like this happened, after the extremely long wait to get Roy raised in the first place, I think I would be done with it.

Tell Me About The Famous Dungeons of D&D

Tomb of Horrors: Of course. This is a gimme, even if your players never decide to go there, it should at least have a presence. Keep on the Borderlands: Perhaps the second or third best known D&D module ever. The Temple of Elemental Evil: I prefer the original over the Return, but both are...

    OotS #605 Is Up....

Hmm, not much in the way of meat or humor in this one, but I see an awesome Belkar strip in the near future. :D
