Which CRPG has the best STORY? (Forked from: Do you not play WoW?)

I have a working theory that everyone's favorite FF game coincides with their first FF game. For me, there is no question that FFVI is the best. I still play through it once evry 18 months or so. Best story (C)omputerRPG because they really are different up to recent years. It's been so long...

    Elfquest racial write up

I've never seen one, but I assume the easiest way to handle it would be with a racial feat that grants an animal companion as if a Druid, limited to a specific beast. There may be a better feat/ability to address it in the Psionic books, but I'm not overly familiar with them.

    The Old School: AD&D 1e

Examining the cage Zhantain considers it's operation, "Hmm, big enough for one or two of us at a time. Though, perhaps we should explore the other passages on this level before we descend? Bad enough if we are ambushed as we arrive below, worse still should we be suprised by some dark creature...

December '08: What Are You Reading?

Just read Alas, Babylon... appearantly for the first time. I know, what's up with that? Could have sworn I had read it in high school, but I can say with absolute confidence that not one single passage of the book was familiar. I greatly enjoyed it. Finished most of the others I had going...

    Casting the OoTS movie

Hmm, not being familiar with the guy, I had to google some images. You're right. He would make a good Belkar, visualy. But Belkars got to be funny. *shrug

    Casting the OoTS movie

Haha, you're a bad man. :D Ktulu, Regarding Jack Black, he would make a superb Belkar IMO. Much better than Durkon. Yes he could pull off the tree scene supurbly, but Belkar has so much more comedy in his role than Durkon.

Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

You're right, I did. I was going to come back and edit that, but my father came into town a day early and threw everything out of whack for me. Dire Bare may or may not have been jerkish, but I certainly felt a (probably unintentional) snide-ness. Eye of the beholder and all that. Anyway, I've...

Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

Do you have to be a jerk to come off sounding like one? As I said already. Read the whole thread before you jump on someone, I already gave the man credit for his article. I'm not convinced it is a good review, but it is a good article. He's a good writer.

Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

I read the DMG backwards and forwards actually, and at the time could have recited to you all the ways to roll stats and then tell you why we didn't use them. It's just not an option we used so with the passage of time I (incorrectly, I get it. ;)) associate it with later versions of the game.

As I said; Good article. ;)

Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

Hm, We didn't play that way until well into 2e, early/mid 90's. Actually that wasn't even my old group. It was a bunch of my shipmates when I was in the Navy.

Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

Well, seeing as how this thread is about Weaton's review, I figured we were talking about a discussion rather than game time. Sure, I'd enjoy playing with the guys, but then I'd play with just about anyone. And having read the article now, he did a good job. I still have issue with some of his...

    How did WoW dethrone Everquest?

I didn't say, nor mean to imply that the only reason WoW did (is doing) so well was luck. In fact my points about it running on mediocre systems and optional PvP are due to the very hard work, research and talent you mention. My point was that any number of things could have been done...

Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

If D&D is the topic of conversation, I'd rather have a sit down with the later group. The people who are actually involved with the game. Sure, I'd love to hang out with Vin, chat with Colbert or... well I honestly don't care either way for Wil Weaton, but these are guys who used to play the...

Hmm, well I'll have to reserve my judgement until I can get home and read this. (I'm not entirely comfortable clicking on any Suicidegirls link while at work. ;)) I do find it curious though, that he hadn't played the game even though he has 'had the full rules' since the week before release...

    How did WoW dethrone Everquest?

Right, and when did EQ have 10 times the subscribers of it's closest competitor? I mean, c'mon. Really. As for your points, nothing you listed contradicts what I said. I have played the game. In beta, through the nightmare of a launch and for 6 or 8 months after. It's a good game. It is. I...

Best Version of Call of Cthulhu

Oh, I've read enough of it to like the setting, I'm just not sure about the scenarios. (My personal preference is 'classic' CoC. I like the 1920's/30's flavor.)
