Have you decided to change systems?

I am currently running two D&D 3.5 games (Ptolus and The Red Hand of Doom) and I play in another (The Savage Tide). However, I recently picked up the C&C player’s handbook and flat out feel in love with it. I am still planning on continuing with my current 3.5 games but given the chance, I...

    The Shield

A strong episode last night. Man, Billings was right: He and Dutch DO make a good team. I have never liked Billings. I generally thought that he was wimpy backstabbing jerk but after last night, I have a new found respect for the character. His decency and his backbone really came out in...

Whats going on in your game?

In my Age of Worms campaign, the party is about to make the trip from Diamond Lake to the town of Magepoint to speak to their associate Allustan’s former master the Archmage Tenser. This is after rescuing Allustan from being trapped in the tomb of a long dead Wind Duke general. In my Ptolus...

Tom Moldvay passes away (see post #52)

I was very sad to hear about this. My condolences to his family. His red and blue Basic D&D box set with the Erol Otus art work introduced me to the game and I think it was one of the finest RPG products ever produced.

I'm still going to drink to it!

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I feel like someone kicked me in the groin. I started reading Dragon magazine back when Reagan was President and Michael Jackson was known for his music instead of for his eccentricities. I will drink a toast to both magazines and wish the best of luck to Pazio and their “Pathfinder” magazine.

Last night, I finished off David Gemmell's final novel "Troy: Shield of Thunder." Now, I am reading Jim Butcher's latest Dresden book: "White Night."

Pathfinder 1E Paizo to Publish Howard, Moorcock, Gygax and (?)

I wouldn't mind seeing the "Kothar" series back in print. I picked up a copy of "Kothar and the Wizard Slayer" last summer in used book store. I was really enjoying it until the book disintegrated. I would also like to see a reprint of the original version of Poul Anderson's "The Broken...

Yet another endorsement for Noble Knight Games. I imagine that there will be more.

Book spoilers in the Dresden Files TV?

So far, there has been very little from the books in the series. Some characters have the same names but that is where the similarity ends sadly. In other words, you can watch the show without fear of having the books spoiled for you.

    Drinking and gaming?

If I had been asked this question eleven years ago then the answer would have "Always." Now, it is rarely if ever. Part of it is that I always have to drive to the games that I am involved in. If the game was held at my home, I might be more inclined to have a drink or two during the game...

    What attracted you to D&D?

It was the animated version of "The Hobbit" (the video tape was a Christmas gift from my aunt) which lead me soon after that to read the book as well. A year or two later, I guy that I went to Boy Scouts and church talked about the adventures his characters had and that lead me to trying the...

    True Sight vs. Natural Invisibility

Thanks for infomation. I guess that I didn't read the entire Invisible Staker description in the Monster Manual. (It was a summoned monster so I was reading the book while actually running the encounter. I only was able to look at the attack options, AC and hit points.)

    True Sight vs. Natural Invisibility

Does the spell True Sight work against a creature with Natural Invisibility? I do know that a creature with Natural Invisibility immune to Invisibility purge, but I’m not certain that Natural Invisibility makes the creature immune to True Sight.

    [Feb] What are you reading?

Sure. The first book was a novel title "Sanctuary" by Lynn Abby. It takes place around 30 to 40 years after the original anthology wrapped up. It centers on the final days of Molin Torchbearer. I bought it paper back in the Summer of 2003 so they have been around for awhile. I can't speak...

    [Feb] What are you reading?

Last night I finished up "Thieves' World: Enemies of Fortune" which was part of the Thieves' World relaunch that came out around 2002. I really enjoyed it and I was disappointed that it is unlikely that the series will continue. I just ordered China Mieville's "Perdido Street Station" from...

Complete Scoundrel gives alignments for Batman, James Bond, Riddick, and more...

I agree. Al Swearengen does have some good moments, but mainly he does some very rotten, evil things.
