Metal fans, come share in the love!

Rush (My favorite band of all time) Black Sabbath (Te first band to take rock and roll and make it EVIL) Iron Maiden (Thinking man’s heavy metal) The Blue Oyster Cult (One of the bands that helped define the term “Heavy Metal”) Led Zeppelin (the god fathers of heavy metal) Deep Purple (Machine...

When was the last time mounts/mounted combat saw a use?

I guess it depends on the campaign. In the game I DM, practically never. In the game in which I am playing one of the PCs, the very often. Almost every session. Why? Because the GM created the campaign in which mounted combat was very frequent.

    Character Catchphrases

I have had more than one PC in various games say the same thing when surrounded and hopelessly outnumbered: "Maybe we've got them demoralized."

    The Dresden Files

I have read all of them and I enjoyed all of them. This despite the fact that they are all written in first person, my least favoriate style of storytelling. The Dresden Files have inspired more than one GURPs character in my friends modern fantasy/horror campaign.

Do you DM sitting or standing?

I perfer to sit but in the enviroment that I DM in now, I have to stand most of the time. I wish we had a better gaming area but we don't. That still doesn't prevent me from enjoying the game.

What do Enworlders do in real life?

Software tester and former Network administrator. My degree was actually in history with a minor in theater. Go figure.

    Favourite video clips?

Spinal Tap's "Hellhole", Butt Trumpet's "I'm Ugly and I don't know why" and Black Sabbath's "Trashed" are probably my favorite videos of all time. I am probably one of the 5 people that ever saw them.

What fantasy stories are should be done next on the big screen?

Yet another vote for Elric. I also have to throw in David Gemmell's "Legend" and Scott Butcher's "Dresden Files."

    Rate King Kong

I gave it a 9. It didn't quite have the magic of LOTRs, but it was still an excellent film. Also, it had something that LOTRs didn't have....Naomi Watts! That is enough for me.

    Why did you start DMing?

I was on a power trip I think. That was well over 20 years ago so I can only vaguely recall.

    What's your DM Gimmick?

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a gimmick but one re-occuring theme in my campaings has been my friend Chris's character almost always ends up getting eaten by a gelantinous cube. It was like three seperate campaigns in a roll. For Christmas a few years ago, he gave a skeleton mini that was...

    What's Your Favorite Crime Movie?

Goodfellas. That film is a masterpiece.

What d20 author do you buy sight-unseen?

Mike Mearls because I have heard him described as "the dark hope for chaotic evil". I ran his "Durgen's Folley" about 4 years ago and it was great.

    This Just In

I thought Deadwood Season 1 was great. However, the series uses language that would make a sailor blush. David Mammet was never this harsh at his peak. If that doesn't bother you (it didn't bother me), then I think that you will enjoy it.

GM's: what was your first module?

Dweller's of the Forbiddin City was the first module that I ever DMed. Becaues of that, Yuan-ti, bullywugs, taoliso and oriential dragons will always have a place in my heart.

    GMs: What's your latest module?

The Shackled City. The group will be finishing up Thirteen Cages tomorrow night. Just 2 more left. We have been running this campaign for a year and a half.

Does your group have a website/messageboard?

We have one that hosts for 4 different games (2 D&D games and 2 GURPS games). Everyone involved has gotten a lot of use out of it.

    PCs die when...

Some times they die when they do something foolish. Sometimes, it just happens. The adventure that I am running now is VERY deadly and it has just been almost un-avoidable, particuliarly when the bad guys have ready access to save or die attacks and spells. During the last session, 2 PCs...

    D&D Novels- best authors?

My vote is split between the team of Margaret Weiss/Tracy Hickman and R.A. Salvatore. Although it has been year (or decades), I did enjoy their work. I have also enjoyed every Ravenloft novel that I have read. I have also enjoyed Troy Denning's work as well. (I have heard people refer to...
