    Odd but legal?

The action of putting a weapon into a hand in order to wield it is called drawing a weapon andf it is and a move action (feats may help reduce this etc). The action does not state where you draw it from - in this case you drew it from the other hand. Claiming that you are using two free...

    Odd but legal?

I don't think you can throw the 2nd item. To throw it you would have to be using ITWF and the item produced from the glove is not a valid target for yout TWF as it did not start in your hand. ITWF builds on TWO and I believe is under all the same restrictions. Consider what if you produced...

    Odd but legal?

Hypersmurf raises the question about IUWTF and throwing daggers. ITWF says "In addition to the standard single extra attack you get with an off-hand weapon, you get a second attack with it, albeit at a -5 penalty. See the Two-Weapon Fighting special attack. " this clearly extends TWF and so...

    Odd but legal?

I think consulting the rules here is relevant. to make more than 1 attack in a round requires the full attack action. If you are using two weapon fighting to do this, you must state so, because you take a penalty on your attack roll with both primary and secondsry weapons (the penalty varies...

    Odd but legal?

The simple answer is no. 1) Two-Weapon fighting = full attack. transfering a weapon from one hand to another hand where you intend to attack with it in the other hand counts as "Drawing a weapon so that you can use it in combat" - which is a move action. You cannot do a full action and a...

The problem of keeping magic items scarce...

if you do use the tax man to take the PC's items, be prepared for your campaign to be totally destroyed., everyone hates the tax man. Why is the legend of robin hood so well regarded? pc#s hate to have their items taken away from them. They hate it and loathe it with a passion. The PC's...

    No Iterative Attacks in D&D

I've taken a quick look at the sheets. Interesting. I'm not sure that I agree with all the asumptions in them though. My maths as I posted was very much quick and dirty - an approximation. It also includes feats - which do affect the overall % calcs, especially the to hit %'s Generally I...

    No Iterative Attacks in D&D

I think that disarm, sunder and trip are completly crap ways to fight, they aren't D&D the way I want to play. The rules make it way too easy to do this. Same with grapple. It should be better to hit someone with a weapon than to trip them up. Cheese. and people who use them are cheesy.

Good reward items for my party

Why not ask the players what they want? Do it in game as the benefactor, it makes for a neat encounter (and a great setup later for when a bad guy does something similar to them find out their weaknesses)

    No Iterative Attacks in D&D

The very simplified math: Assuming a fighter has a 75% chance to hit a typical foe with their primary attack at each level. at 6th, they get a 50% chance to hit a foe. So now their total damage is 125% of average damage. at 11th they add another attack, at 25%, so damage rises to 150% at...

    Enervation

I find this interesting. I can see both sides of the arguement here. I'd like to see what people think about the following. A 12th level druid can turn into a plant using wildshape, an 11th level druid cannot. A enervation sas "Each negative level gives a creature a -1 penalty on attack...

15th level NPC vs. 9th level party

With the classes you have chosen, you should tweak her equipment a little bit to optimise this character somewhat so that they can be more fun and a little more of a challenge. Create water as a 1st level clerical spell? I don't think so. Go for something useful instead. Shield of Faith...

Give me some made up feats you use

Slay Undead. You can critical undead on a 20 and do double damage. You Can take the feat once more to increase the threat range to 19-20 and once more to increase the damage multiplier to triple.

    Performance reviews and cleaving.

Kill his characters repeatedly until he makes one who works with the group. If he refuses to climb in and get dirty then let him wait outside and play the scenario for the rest of the group. Let him make his hide roll and have nothing happen to him. Explain afterwards that the reason he...

    The one responsible for defense.

Best thing is to educate people, by showing them how to do it. The DM should hit the party with (almost) duplicates of themselves, but make them work together. point it out when they are doing. Have the NPC party leader call out actions - say them at the table - then have the team execute...

    Military tactics vs. high-level spellcasters

10,000 4th level fighters vs 20 9-15th lvl spell casters is a scenario for total defeat for the fighters. IMO they have no chance of success. People have focused on the standard mass Fireball to take out the troops, this is a very simplistic scenario and well, wizards can do much much...

Is D&D combat meant to be heroic?

The 20th level fighter opponent who has just been disarmed, picks up his sword (move action) and attacks you once (standard action). If you had not disarmed him, the 20th level fighter would have attacked you 4 time (or 5 with haste). 1) You got a free attack on him (AOO) that replaced your...

    Interrogation and Torture Procedure?

When PC's are doing it: Intimidate or Gather Information. The torture attempt gives you a bonus on the skill. Ask them how many plusses they want for the torture. If the number of plusses is greater than the victims level or hit dice they die. Each torture must be at least +2 above the...
