I voted serious, but there are parts of that description that don't fit, so I would be on the border to "somewhat serious" or even "casual". If I could split my vote I would have done so... The descriptions are kinda hard for me to put my finger on one label and say, thats a 100% match

O god, that was painful to read. --- I personally avoid NPCs traveling with the players. Mostly because somehow all my players are extremely competent at bringing the enemies down to 1-4 Hitpoints left and then stop hitting them (though they try). So NPCs would kinda end up killing the enemies...
