    Creature Incarnations - Kobolds!

Monster damage isn't based on the same rules as PC damage.

Stopping the "extended rest after every encounter"

even at 12 hours, that's plenty of time for monsters to be monsters and kill innocent villagers.

Ranger should have been Martial Controllers

No one gets into debates about who's a Leader, they're very well defined Few people get into debates about who's a defender, they're well defined Few people get into debates about who's a striker, they're well defined Everyone gets into debates about who's a controller, they're very poorly...

The Monk -- a Martial Controller

LOL it's not that... it's that it's hard to imagine a martial Monk. What is the Ki power source for if not for Monks? So make Ki implements. Prayer beads come to mind. Yes I did read the design goals, but while I do think you have a lots of things done right, I don't think the design is...

Stopping the "extended rest after every encounter"

PUNISHMENT TIME have the monsters reinforce the first encounter harder than before. make it clear that they're loosing ground. And add some villager corpses to extend the guilt.

Trap-disabler Wanted: Optimized halflings need only apply?

bah, optimized kobolds do fine :p

    dead end?

sure the encounter as currently written would kill them. But you're the DM you can change it. A. just nerf it. B. split it in two. C. NPC reinforcements I'm thinking a combination of A and C. Have an NPC party of Over confident braggarts march right past the party telling them to stand down...

Ranger should have been Martial Controllers

that's because far more character archetypes fit the striker role. The only other class I think is really suited for the controller role is druid.

    Lance?

yeah I don't think it needs any additional bonus. I'd much rather see feats, paragon paths or powers that made it the viable choice, just like daggers for rogues.

    What does "TPK" mean?

TPKs are epic fail. They simply shouldn't happen. The encounters should favor the party, the players should retreat when things are going bad, the DM should fudge, the Enemies should capture the PCs. So if one does occur it's a sign of real trouble. Indeed I've played since OD&D and I don't...

    Lance?

just let people use pole arms one handed while mounted if they have the mounted combat feat.

    Fighter damage dealing potential...

clerics and warlords make good use of two handers too.

    Fighter damage dealing potential...

it's not really a fighter combo, any one can use those weapons.

The Monk -- a Martial Controller

a monk is no more a controller than a fighter is a controller. fighters hinder movement and do aoe attacks. two hand fighter, two hand paladins, twf rangers and brutal rogues already straddle the space between a defender and a striker. There's a KI power source, monks should use it. marks...

Monster Manual: What's missing which has impacted you?

not since 2E I have to admit. Each new MM needs a certain number of new monsters. Yeah, I have to agree there. While druids used them, a lot, they weren't really used much. The best of them are still in the MM.

    Creature Incarnations - Kobolds!

clearly the chart should be used with a d10 :D
