Elandra shrugs. Well, there's only one way to find out: let's kick some butt!

ooc: can we see anything now? Or should we light torches? Duncan sheathes his sword as the abhuman crawls near him, then walks away towards Echo, Xaion and Father Seren. "Are you still interested in going to the upsidedown mountain? If this is just a treasure hunt, this outpost has...

Futuristic Armor & Materials compared to Medieval

Not necessarily: Minions in many games simply have 1hp (earliest I can think of is M&M, though I'm sure some 90s games could have thought of this; maybe just house rules, I don't know). Armor can be just the DC to hit the target, and a hit automatically knocks them down.

Futuristic Armor & Materials compared to Medieval

ACP? How would you differ between storm troopers and, say, Master Chief from Halo? And also Gears of War suits? The Halo suits are spaceworthy, I'd say Heavy armor. The Gears have the least cover. The Troopers would be in the middle, but they're... well, they just die so much.

Futuristic Armor & Materials compared to Medieval

I like the idea of making it lighter. What about Hockey equipment? How would that stack up in terms of armor design?

Futuristic Armor & Materials compared to Medieval

I'm trying to mix Futuristic materials with Medieval materials for armor. Fantasy world with Star Wars storm/clone troopers arrive. How different are storm trooper armors? If the players grabbed Trooper armor after a fight, and I wanted to use the Medieval armors in a given rule set as a...

    Sailors on the Starless Sea

"Spew of the Swamp Giants!" Alaric curses, and leaps back with his sword before him. Though brave, he has no desire to feel the touch of death just yet. "This for you Borok pulls out his vial of holy water, uncorks it, and runs forward to splash the slime. His other hand holds his...

"I'm willing to take this one at his word, for now. He could have exploded our minds while talking if he'd thought a little harder. It means he attempted non-lethal contact first. These abhumans... until we know more, you know my thoughts on letting an army cross overland. I won't take that...

    The Center of Time

Duncan moves fast, impossibly fast, up from the Originator and to the lever. He wraps his hand around the handle and cranks it down as hard as he can, as he would hammer home his greatsword on some beast. [roll0] (will burn Int if needed)

Explorers of Calemor, Chapter 1: A View from Afar

Elandra's smile gets bigger and bigger, until the end when the birdman finishes, and she turns to the rest of the group wide-eyed and teeth gleaming, pointing at the man-pheasant. She nods enthusiastically towards the birdman, pointing with both hands. It's... fairly obvious she thinks this...

    Sailors on the Starless Sea

Borok nods along with his brother dwarf's wisdom, though he understands Xim's anger with the fort. Alaric shrugs thoughtfully. "Perhaps we'll live to find out. Yet I don't like the looks of this frog idol for goodness and innocence, and sacrifices of this sort usually happen in wicker cages...

    Sailors on the Starless Sea

Alaric thinks out loud. "Perhaps they were worshipping that idol and then were locked in here by some religious zealots, burned alive. I'd guess that whoever did this thought they were truly evil... probably some demon idol of frogs, then, or else a nature deity of swamps?" Alaric goes to...

(roll)dice (/roll) so: (roll)1d20+5(/roll) looks like this when you use square brackets instead of round ones: [roll0] For the Numenera game I don't add the modifier, I just put 1d20. Make sense?

My experience with these boards is the following works: Charisma check by Fireinthedust: [roll0] aka: (roll)1d20+57(/roll) OOC: write what you want here. IC: Then Fire went back into character, fingers a blur as they whirred across the keyboard. "Must finish before coffee runs out!" he...

    Sailors on the Starless Sea

Alaric looks inside at the burnt room. He scans the room for other doors, bery quickly, then looks over the remains, and especially at the demon toad fountain. OOC: Who is this idol depicting? Can I guess based on what I know from the DCC RPG book of patrons who I think this is, and since...

Explorers of Calemor, Chapter 1: A View from Afar

Oh come on, guys, it's not so bad! I mean, look at that view. It's... it's fantastic! The ardent named Elandra sighed deeply. It was the sort of thing, she'd learned, that people do when watching stars. I mean, sure we nearly died and all we have to show for it is a scrap of paper... but...

    Sailors on the Starless Sea

ooc: Wait, I just re-read the text, noticed this is the burned-out building. Sorry! Heh, I have a feeling Alaric's going to be wrong about this one. Sigh. IC: Alaric, Borok and Xim move to help Narancasta, Dudles following with his sack of carried goods.

The Center of Time OOC Discussion

My dilemma is that I just can't pick a side. I still don't like letting an army cross overland, potentially slaying everyone in their path. That said, they're bringing us to our goal, this time-pyramid. The originators... well, who knows? Either way this seems like the current dilemma: who...
