    [5e] Spell & Crossbones

I'm good for ship-to-ship combat, if we're leaping from one ship to another. Just like in a Trek game, I suggest players all have a "thing" we can do, like steering, rigging, firing a ballista, being the captain who makes people feel better or roll better with Charisma, etc. Island to island...

    D&D 5E (2014) Recruiting a 5E DM

did you find anyone for this? I saw the Pirate game tentatively posted, but I'm not sure if this thread has been answered.

    [5e] Spell & Crossbones

I know too much about Dragon Mountain to play it. Pirates could be fun. So could Witcher (though I'm unfamiliar with the setting) I'm tentatively interested, but I would like to see a strong concept for the game being pitched. EDIT: Not intending to sound like a "richard", just...

    Kiraya's Konundrum (Unemployed)

Bummer! We're just getting going, too!

    Swordmage class

Yes! Look at it like this: you're giving immunity to the states, but not the causes of those states. If it was magical blindness, fine. What if I covered our SM's eyes? Does the mythal grant them sight? That's immunity to blindness *the effect*. Try to think like the GM of a group of...

    Swordmage class

My bias: I've got a Swordmage-type option for 5e, but it's a class archetype. For an elf I came up with. but last night! Stayed up, jotting him down. I do like what you've done (and the art: great choices!) Let me get some sleep, and let me go over the FR Swordmage, and the other, older...

    Swordmage class

The problem I'm seeing is that lots of this seems to be transcribing 4e mechanics and powers into 5e, but I'm not sure if you've stopped to appreciate the effects on 5e of what you're suggesting. 1) Mythal Recovery: Advantage is huge. Khaalis is suggesting you get advantage on pretty much...

    The Center of Time

OOC: buh, terrible. Unless, err, it's really easy to guess?

    The Center of Time

Duncan looks at the distance between himself and the chronal feeder, and tries to access his memory banks of the pattern beasts use to play with their prey: toss in the air, direction, range of chronal teleport... If his strategic mind could calculate where that thing would appear next with...

D&D 5E (2014) Video of guys in plate mail as reference for you!

Question: What is roman legionary armour? Is it Banded mail? Or would it be a breast plate or what?

Isn't that the spiked chain from 3e? In Heroes of Horror there are two NPC stat blocks that use it, and I believe they're illustrated. Oh, and in the MM there's the minor Vampire who has a spiked chain. It gives you range, it's two handed, and I think it's an exotic weapon.

Everything D&D Ever - Chapter 1: Temple of the Frog

OOC: looks like Xana had a passage bookmarked on this forest! Odum, for his part, is distracted by ghost stories, and picking lice from the hair of the nearest party member (and eating it for the protein). Xana and Odum likewise look up as the voice speaks with an elvish accent...

Everything D&D Ever - Chapter 1: Temple of the Frog

Xana thinks about everything she's read about forests, especially this one. [roll0] Odum, her familiar, likewise ponders the dangers of the wood. [roll1]

You're 100% correct. I think I avoided Mail in the body of the post, and was fighting my habit the entire time. Then I wrote the title, thinking how successful I'd been in switching to the proper term... and you see what happened. Guh. (hangs head in shame and exhaustion)

D&D 5E (2014) Video of guys in plate mail as reference for you!

I got a link to this neat demonstration of plate armour mobility and combat that I can see as good information for anyone here. This is what your plate armour fighters can expect to do in full plate: climb up and down ladders, roll around, dance a jig, click their heels! As a bonus feature...

    The Center of Time

Duncan, mavin missed Xaion, rumbles desperately to Echo. Can we follow him? Can you... hack the energy string somehow? Or use one of our component parts? Where would they have teleported to? Some lair or nest?

Everything D&D Ever - Chapter 1: Temple of the Frog

Xana catches up to the others and plants herself in the middle, behind someone taller than herself. Odum, on her shoulder, frequently peers over that person's shoulder, in case enemies attack. So, have any of you ever done this sort of thing before? I've only spent time reading about delving...

Everything D&D Ever - Chapter 1: Temple of the Frog

OOC: Yes!!! Kestrel is officially my hero. BTW: Are there potions of healing available to bring? Either with the supplies or in town that we can purchase from an alchemist? I think it would be handy to have nearby, and this setting has technology available to the rich. If it's in the...

    D&D 5E (2014) My 1st Homebrew

Love the setting! I'm going to try to do a small local area like this: simple locations nearby that can be visited, rather than isolated nations that will never be used. Flavour, sure, but I've never had to leave the village and go to basically another setting. Keep it coming!
