Hi all,
I'm looking for some ideas and advice on building challenging social encounters for my players. My group is close to finishing their first adventure, which had a fair amount of combat, so I'd like to shift things for the more social-oriented PCs.
The next adventure I have planned is...
Hey jreyst, my group has just started a campaign using Pathfinder for the first time, and we've been using the site as reference quite a bit, so I'd like to pitch in. I e-mailed you the needed info.
Thanks!
Heartday, Clearbark 11th, Year 108 of the New Age.
Cyrussilar Ari'luth, City-Lord of Mysthaven, sat at his desk in his office, giving a quick read of the report on the two individuals. He glanced up to the elf woman sitting before him.“Only two new graduates this year, Ariella?”
Ariella...
About 4 weeks. We just recently got together after not playing D&D for about 10 years.

We're playing D&D 3.5 in a homebrew campaign.
So in a few weeks, I'll be DMing my first game in nearly a decade of following the game, but not actually playing. It's going to be with a group of friends in a similar rut as me (played before, but haven't in recent years), so I've got a nice little tutorial-like adventure created so we can...
I just wanted to pop in and say that I'm really enjoying this story hour. :)
Well-written, interesting characters, and great update rate. Plus, I really like Delta Green conspiracy stuff.
While I agree that pigs are not docile and pretty stubborn, if your party of experienced adventurers can't handle one common pig, then how are they gonna handle whatever actually kills the pig?
The next installment of HIGHLANDER
Only a small teaser, but it looks pretty sweet. This time we're in what seems to be your typical, post-apocalyptic anime future :)
I got a wonder, though, how many Immortal MacLeods are there? Their family reunions might be mistaken for the Gathering! :p

Open Beta FAQ
Gotta say that I'm a bit relieved that open beta hasn't started this week, cuz I got a school project to finish by the end of the week and if I was in open beta, I doubt I'd get it done.
Thankfully, OB should start next week, and by then I'll be having a...
Square-Enix has a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on their website:
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/dvd/ff7ac/
This one has an english monologue, but it's still pretty vague on the plot and details of the movie. There's some new scenes with Tifa fighting, and one with Vincent.
My top 5 favs vary from time to time as I watch new anime, or revisit some I haven't watched in ages. Here are my current top 5, in no particular order:
Record of Lodoss War (both OAV and Chronicles of the Heroic Knight): Great D&D feel and I love the artwork.
Full Metal Alchemist: Funny and...
Sweet! Canada's YTV will be airing the GI Joe movie tonight at 9 pm EST.
Man, I haven't seen that movie for years, and I couldn't find it at my local movie rental recently. It's gonna be great to revisit one of the cartoon icons of my childhood. :)
Does anyone know the name and writer for the music for the trailer of Troy? I saw the trailer the other day on TV again, and it kept bugging me that I felt I knew that music from somewhere else.
Thanks.
I like this episode, and I thought it was very touching. In season 4, I felt I understood Connor; in this episode, I liked him. It's a pity we won't be seeing much more of well-adjusted Connor. Curse you, WB!
I loved the look on Wesley's face when it all came back to him. The guilt, the shame...
I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 Matrix movies. There may be a difference in how much I enjoyed each one, but as long as I enjoyed the movie and was entertained, all is well.
Strangely enough, I enjoyed Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions more on my second and third viewing once I got the DVDs. It's got...
GameSpy has a preview for the upcoming FR console game for the PS2 here.
I enjoyed Two Towers a lot, so I'm looking forward to trying this game out. Plus, RAS wrote the story so that's a real treat.
I too enjoy a lot of webcomics: PvP, Penny-Arcade, s*p, VGCats, 8-bit theater, Bob and George, Dungeon Damage, Nodwick to name a few. As for games, I'm currently renewing my interest in the world-building game Utopia at games.swirve.com/utopia.
