    Green Slime & Mage Hand

Some people like to stick to the rules. I personally don't always, but I think it's important to know the rules, so that if and when you change them, you know that you're doing it. That may be, but 'object' and 'creature' as part of the game rules have specific meanings. Not actually a...

    Time or distance?

One thing you might do is draw by distance, but put the grid on by travel time. That way the 'squares' on the mountains are smaller, the 'squares' on the roads are long and thin, etc.

    Green Slime & Mage Hand

It targets an object, not a creature. However, you could have used mage hand on something glass, ceramic, or stone to scoop up the slime and carry it. J

Looking for an old PC game...

This is the only one of the three I've actually played, but it's so big (and openended) it's almost overwhelming. One of the very few games were you can completely ignore the main plot, play for months, and still not run out of things to do. J

    RPGNow and the competition . . .

Not what you said, but how you said it. While the internet is imperfect for conveying tone, it's difficult to read "you're probably seething with insistence that you're a unique individual" as anything but insulting. So you're cutting them slack on the art and layout, right? ;) You have...

    Unused tools?

Yep. Most players hate to waste an action, and readying to counterspell has too big a risk of that happening - the guy might cast a spell you don't have. You might blow your spell identification roll. He might cast a spell that you don't want to waste one of your own spells to counter. He...

    How to Explain Evasion?

Jump in the air. Everyone knows that explosions can't harm you if you're airborne when they go off.

    Feats Not Created Equal

Even then, this feat becomes useless once you get enough tumble to ignore AoOs even on a '1' - your addition just makes that happen two levels earlier. Perhaps a better solution is to use one of the Tumble variants that makes it an opposed roll vs. the opponent's attack roll. This doesn't...

I think that's what I remebered! Thanks! I kept looking through Quint Druid at the store and not seeing it... J

    Chronicles of Riddick future setting

I thought it fit just fine with the whole Warhammer 40K vibe I got. But then again, I may have gotten that by conflating Necromongers with Necromunda. J

    Cave Druid?

I'll check those out, but I'm pretty sure it was a variant core class, not a prestige. Thanks!

    Cave Druid?

Somewhere, I seem to recall seeing a druid variant focused on caves, earth, and/or the Underdark. I mentioned this to a player who was considering playing a druid but hesitating because of a heavily urban/dungeon-focused campaign. He is intrigued and wishes to know more, but now I can't find...

    Chronicles of Riddick future setting

Yeah. Same with that Herbert guy. I mean come on, Dune? For a desert planet? Laaaaaame. And whoever called this state 'Pennsylvania'...Penns' Woods, there's a lot of woods, yeah, yeah, we get it, especially when we have to rake all the leaves. ;) In some ways, it makes a lot more sense than...

The Lorethief core class - An acquirer of obscure knowledge (revised again)

For the name, I think "lorethief" flows better. That said, I've got to agree - compare this guy to the bard. He's got better spellcasting (including some non-arcane spells), as many skill points, almost as good a class skill list, bardic knowledge, and a host of special abilities. Not only...
