    17-20 critical hits?

D&DI - Races Unless you're a subscriber you get a very limited subset of the rules from it. The erratta can be found on WotC's website.

    17-20 critical hits?

According to the Compendium, Jagged is (save ends). I'd forgotten about Bloodiron. You're right, it's the way to go. They both grant feat bonuses. Bonuses with the same name don't stack.

monk preview: another expertise feat - talk about stealth errata!

Is there honestly anyone here that can't read that feat and know what they mean despite the lack of a pointer to which bonuis you should get? If so, have you told them about it so that the playtest of this class can fix the problem?

    17-20 critical hits?

Why a Jagged dagger? The 19-20 crit range is wasted on a Daggermaster, and you can get comparable damage with Viscous or neat effects with other weapons. Average extra damage for a Viscious +3 weapon is 19.5. The Jagged dagger is only going to add 10 damage, 20 if they fail a save, or 30 if you...

    Monk Feedback

I haven't read the whole article, but I'm failing to see how they're considered a striker, at least compared to any of the strikers already out there. Their extra damage ability is once per turn, and only adds your wisdom modifier to the damage. At paragon level you can do it to two creatures...

Unicorn's Touch: Free Hit Points Every 5 Minutes?

It seems to me that the root of your problem comes from trying to define hit points and healing surges as a single thing. They're not luck. They're not inner reserves to push past pain. They're not magic. They're all of that and more. Hit points and healing surges are whatever you need them to...

What Have We Done About Solos?

Not when they're alone. At least not when the fight is finally over. The first few rounds are usually fun, but after that it gets repetitive. I've been running Touch of Madness lately, which has no solos in it. Instead they put a bunch of elites in the adventure, with lower level mooks to back...

What's the benefit of Pinioning Vortex?

It doesn't have to. The falling rules are already in the DMG. Delay There are some things that can only target you if you're dazed or immobile. They're usually monster abilities, but PCs aren't the only ones with access to wizard spells. It wouldn't do the exact same thing, but it'd be...

    The Immaculate Defence

I definitely wasn't recommending it, just answering the question. It's a good tactic to use every now and then with smart foes, or to combat cheese. Other than that, it's a loophole that shouldn't be exploited. Anyone know why they put it in? Is there something broken that happens if you're...

What's the benefit of Pinioning Vortex?

They probably meant for it to land in its old square if unoccupied or choose a square if it was. That still doesn't help the power much. It does pretty strong damage for a Wizard power though, whcn you factor in the extra d10 from the fall. In the right party (Ranger, Dagger Rogue, Polearm...

Weakened condition more condusive to grind?

It's definitely a pain, especially when it shows up on insubstansial foes. I don't think it needs to be gotten rid of entirely, but creatures that weaken should be used sparingly.

What Have We Done About Solos?

Off the top of my head only Tiamat seems really capable of being a solo and still being an interesting fight. But she's more like 5 monsters in a single body.

    The Immaculate Defence

Ready an action to attack on your turn, which would prevent you from using immediate actions (like Aegis).

What Have We Done About Solos?

Yeah. You expect a BBEG to bring meatshields. Even WotC frequently puts solos in a group. I think the idea was that solos could hold their own, not that they necessarily should.

    MC Warlock and Hexer PP

I'd guess that you're screwed. You only get your curse once per encounter, and the PP doesn't give you more uses, just more ways to apply it.

What Have We Done About Solos?

Why make the last fight a solo? Lower the boss's level by a couple and fill it in with some complimentary hazards and/or monsters. If it absolutely has to be a solo, make sure the terrain matches it. And don't be stingy with the recharge powers. A fight that's degenerated to at-wills is boring...

It's not a house rule. It's in the FAQ or errata, can't remember which..

When is a power used? (Crescendo Sword)

I'm not adding anything. I'm just assuming that the English speaking authors who wrote their books in English for English speaking readers to read in English would assume a basic level of understanding of the English language and its verb tenses: past, present, and future. You are of course free...
