Pirates of the Caribbean II Trailer up

Looks good. Not so sure about pirate Cthulu though. I hope it works better on the big screen.

    So... Is Enworld doing okay?

I only lost about 100 posts, so I guess it means I should be posting more. I am glad the site is back up again, I was getting twitchy.

    I have the PHII...

I picked it up yesterday. I'm happy with it. The feats were interesting, though some I thought questionable (Telling Blow). One thing I did like is that several which require class specific abilities as a prerequisite (bardic music, arcane spells) are listed as bonus fighter feats. Nice that...

    What's in your Pantheon?

I'm taking the opposite tack and getting rid of gods all together for my True 20 homebrew. I'm not sure if the no gods approach will work out though, as the concept may be a bit too ingrained into the genre.

Which core class sucks the most?

    Paladin.

    Best and Worst of 2005?

Best: Single handedly saving the charmed members of my party from a nixie by summoning several octopi. Not so much the act itself, but the look on my DM, Storminator's, face at the absurdity of it all. Worst: Surviving the perils and lack of healing of the Mournland, only to die from a random...

Does a publisher/author's interaction here influence your purchases?

Yes, in my case; specifically Avalanche Press. I got past my dislike of their disgustingly cheesecake covers and bought a few of their earlier d20 products, but after their hissy fit over review copies a few years back I haven't spent another dime on them.

    Publishers that don't add indexes--RANT

For me number of pages isn't an issue. A book detailing an individual city damn well better have an index, whereas a spell compendium may not. A 32 page book might require a more extensive index than a 96 page one, if the material were more dense with names and places. As to a .pdf, there the...

    Buying PDFs

Ack, please let's not let this turn into yet another pdf piracy thread. I have bought many pdfs. Some I prefer as a resource for my computer only use, others I prefer to have printed. For example, I recently bought the True 20 pdf, which I printed out at home. I like to read in places where...

    Japanese guy plays Pachelbel's Canon

My wife did the same. She knew it was cliche, but wanted it anyway. I suggested the Imperial March, but got outvoted.

Info from the 2006 May to August WotC Catalog

Okay, this has my attention, though I will not be buying it sight unseen as I have in the past with other WotC books. I hope review copies get sent out with enough lead time. Interesting, if only for the paperback PHB. Since Keith Baker has a hand in it, I think it won't be a wash, but I'm...

    Fate banner ad

I've seen this banner ad for something called Fate, but every time I click it I get errors connecting, using both Firefox and IE. Is it just me?

    Gay PCs or NPCs

I know one couple that consists of a transsexual male and transsexual female. They've been together for years, so yes, it can work out.

    No Harry Potter RPG?

Don't know how I missed this thread earlier. I've been working on a Harry Potter-esque conversion using the True 20 system and a modified Redhurst as a setting. Taking a cue from Goblet of Fire, where the existance of other magic schools is revealed, I decided to set Redhurst in the Harry...

How many 3.5e D&D Wotc products do you own?

A quick glance at the shelf by my computer shows 16 3.5 WotC products. I own more, but they are in storage. If I had to guess, I'd say it's another 10 or so, mainly race and complete books and FR stuff I no longer use.

Does the True 20 magic system have an intrinsic feel?

I've recently purchased the True 20 .pdf, and am really excited about the magic system presented. I'm thinking about two projects, one modeling a Middle Earth game based on the rule set and another for some younger folks emulating the world of the Harry Potter books. I'm curious, though, as to...
