    Barbarian is up!!!

I also like Rage Strike, but not giving it until level 5 would be worse. It's a class feature. This isn't the era anymore where you need to level up in order to get your class features; you have them all at level 1. If it's something you get later it's a power, feat, or PP/ED feature. Now that...

    D&D 4E Two Misc/obscure 4e rules questions

How is it not relevant? The question was specifically about power-swap feats. The answer is specifically about power-swap feats. So what's the problem? :erm:

D&D 4E Revisiting an old question: 4E Liker - anything you worry about?

Not at all. For most classes there's no such thing as an at-will that's always the best choice. The battlefield is dynamic enough to make the two (or three) at-wills you've got a real meaningful choice. Encounter powers are usually not unleashed right away either, as they're more useful if you...

    Mage hand: can it fly?

Using Mage Hand to drop an object on an opponent? Oh well that's trivially easy to resolve. Page 42 of the DMG. Intelligence based attack vs Reflex, with damage of 1d10+3. Roughly comparable with magic missile, except it takes more trouble to set up. It can be useful for ambushes though, so...

    Adventuers Valt Q&A

It deals extra thunder damage any time you charge. The extra critical damage dice are also increased from d6's to d12's on a charge.

    Balanced & Optimised or Not?

Me too. I mean, obviously the bastard sword is the way to go. ;) No but seriously, I try to make people aware of the other's choices and what it means to have a party that lacks defenders (or whatever). So far I've never had a party that doesn't have the recommended spread but I wouldn't...

Is a +3 good enough to hit stuff?

This is intersting. But did it account for magic weapons/implements and the larger availability of buffing powers?

    [4th]Minotaur(MM) Fighter + Maul = overkill?

Well, it is a racial feature. I'd expect the race to actually, you know, benefit from that. If the math worked out to equal damage it'd be really "ridiculous" because the minotaur would have an advantage that wouldn't help it at all. Just because a race, power, feat, or class does something...

    Thy At-Will Be Done

There isn't any other at-will that's a reaction, no. But commander's strike (warlord) makes me feel that not every at-will needs to be a straightforward attack. But it's certainly unconventional. You're correct about the limit on reactions. Since page 268 of the PHB says that it's possible to...

    Thy At-Will Be Done

There's been some complaints that there's not enough at-wills to choose from, especially humans who essentially only have to pick a single power they won't get in most cases. Not a problem. Belphanior will just cook up some new ones! (Except for the Wizard. He's already got five at-wills and an...

    FR Preview-Sword Mage and Genasi

I like what I see of the swordmage. The fighter is the nasty defender who can dish it out and take it back. The paladin is the cleric-y defender with radiant damage and heals. But the swordmage is the defender with the warlock's annoyance factor baked in (annoyance to the monsters, glorious for...

    Kobolds: Too powerful?

I think it's not too powerful for monster kobolds, but could get very strong in the hands of PC-kobolds. A critter that flanks gets +2 to hit and maybe 1d6 extra damage. A PC can easily squeeze out a lot more than that.

Ranger w/ Twin Strike and Warhammers

What ambiguity? When you make a basic attack you use the Ranged Basic Attack power from page 287, which every character knows. When you use a ranger exploit you use that instead. Just pick one and do what it says. It's really, really simple. The 'heavy thrown' tag even explicitly states that...

High HP feel a little too high?

Eh? A party of five PCs launches about seven attacks per round; one each, except for ranger and wizard who probably get two. This is very simplified and ignores action points and massive dailies that target a lot more. Statistically speaking I expect a crit from the PCs alone about every other...

Help reign in a player who refuses to play his role

A guy who tries to ruin your games by being contrary and disruptive isn't much of a friend... The guy has done this several times before it seems. He sounds to me like an attention junkie who craves control over the game and does so in the worst way possible, by setting the whole thing on fire...

Racial Feats - the Good and the Bad

I agree that some racial feats aren't all that great. The paragon tier ones scale especially poorly (except the all mighty human). I think that in my games I'll change them into racial bonuses instead of feat bonuses. That way they could stack. It probably leads to stereotypical cookiecutter...

    The Economy of Actions: Pets

I think pets will be handled in one of two ways (and maybe both): 1. Inherent to Class. The necromancer is a prime candidate for being a pet-class, as a sort of sub-division of the leader role. Make your own little troupe and buff them. All classes we've seen so far are viable on their own...

Why would your wizard ever bother getting Meteor Swarm?

Meteor Swarm's weakness has been brought up quite often. It compares really poorly to other dailies of its level. I myself houseruled the following: On hit, add "and target is dazed (save ends)". On miss, add "and target is dazed until the start of your next turn."

New Rogue Build found in Compendium - Ruthless Thug

There's more builds at the warlord too, it seems. Mentioned is the Bravura Warlord, and written out is the following. RESOURCEFUL WARLORD You lead by a diverse selection of shouted commands, ongoing stratagems, martial stances, and flexible plans. Your allies can expect help in a wide variety...

New Rogue Build found in Compendium - Ruthless Thug

"Termination Threat" sounds like some bogus move you'd expect to see in a fighting game or some shounen manga (read: japanese comics aimed at male teenagers). In other words, I absolutely adore it. :D
