D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

New Psion in January everyone! I heard it on the internet so it must be true! /s

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

Battle Master was already the best Artificer, it doesn't need Masteries or weapon feats to keep up I don't think. The others needed glowups to get to its level. My only complaint about Battle Smith is they can't use their weapon as a casting focus.

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

I suspect it is for 2026, not 2025. Playtest the class first cause it is the biggest lift, then spend most of next year playtesting revised subclasses for the other classes.

New Trailer for Secret Level's D&D Episode Released

This episode seems to be about the ending of the Tyranny of Dragons campaign, where the players are fighting off the Cult of the Dragon while they are trying to raise Tiamat.

D&D General New Fallbacks Novel coming

Certainly seems like maybe a placeholder synopsis because they don’t know what the selling point is yet, maybe cause the novel isn’t finished? Idk how far out from print they need to be done.

D&D General New Fallbacks Novel coming

A new Fallbacks novel has been posted on Penguin Random House. SPOILER NOTE: Description below has spoilers for end of the first Fallbacks book. “ABOUT DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: THE FALLBACKS: DEALING WITH DRAGONS The Fallbacks return for another adventure in Dungeons & Dragons’ Forgotten Realms...

D&D 5E (2014) Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn

I don’t think this is legit. It doesn’t fit most of the art style from known cover artists that WotC works with, and outside of the Borderlands art the rest is terribly generic. I think they just either commissioned their own art or used art they found elsewhere.

Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Cover, Synopsis Revealed

The Curse of Strahd 5e module says Strahd is trying to end his eternal torment by finding an heir. He picks an adventurer in the party and tries to groom them to be his successor so the Dark Powers release him from undeath. I assume that will be the driving plot of this book.

Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Cover, Synopsis Revealed

Only one member of the party actually looks happy, and that’s their defining trait based on the synopsis. Good horror isn’t always oppressive. It contains moments or characters that bring levity to make the actual dread that much darker.

Scions of Elemental Evil Released on D&D Beyond

Not really understanding people’s complaints here. The stat blocks outside of the Ogre seem like clear upgrades that keep the best design aspects from MotM (namely simplifying casting creatures and providing ranged options for otherwise melee focused builds) and seem to have gotten rid of the...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

There is actual guidance yes. But it’s obvious stuff. Pick three abilities appropriate to the background Pick an origin feat appropriate to the background Pick two skills appropriate to the background Pick a tool proficiency appropriate to the background Make a pack of equipment using 50gp...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

“The People of the Hunting Lands (called Rovers of the Barrens by their neighbors) have a history of raiding the outskirts of Furyondy, the Bandit Kingdoms, Tenh, and Wegwiur, which hasn't won them many allies. The nomads' legendary dominance of the north has faded, as the forces of luz and the...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

At a quick glance I don’t remember much but there is this paragraph I do remember and have copied: “BAKLUNISH NOMADS The Chakyik and Wegwir -called Tiger Nomads and Wolf Nomads, respectively, by their neighbors- are horse riders of Baklunish descent who dwell on the steppes north of the Yatil...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

I think the regions are very open ended in terms of details which I like. Greyhawk itself and the immediate surrounding areas are detailed fairly well, while still leaving room for improvisation for the DM. The Regions all get a couple of paragraphs that give big overviews on the area and...

Yes, and the weapons have weapon mastery properties. Example: Shotguns have the Push mastery.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

Personally I have 0 familiarity with Greyhawk so I was excited for it as a sort of blank canvas to run games in. My personal favorite bit presented in this section is the three overarching campaign concepts they give. They list three big campaign villains you could use (Chromatic Dragons...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

I don’t have the full book. I have some screen shots from a friend of mine that was at MCM London and has sent me things from her book. I did not get a look at the Lore Glossary unfortunately. I focused on magic items, the sample adventures, Greyhawk as a setting, Bastions, and encounter...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have the DMG. AMA!

They are very similar to the playtest. No more Bastion points (and the benefits that used points are gone) but most of the bastion rules carried over with some notable exceptions. Now there’s a facility that can craft each type of magic item (Smithy for Armaments, Arcane Study for Arcane...
